Worst physical pain you've had?
Heroes in media get thrown into walls etc and get right back up. (because for some reason or another, theyre invulnerable/have stronger pain thresholds etc.)
Whats the worst ever physical pain you've undergone in real life?
Been beaten up? Fell off something? Tortured?
What LF'er has endured the worst pain and still lives to tell the tale?
note: physical pain. not emotional. your girlfriend dumping you doesnt count. (unless in conjunction with physical pain. eg: girlfriend dumps you and then sets her 7ft brother on you)

Well, dropping the power drill on my foot didn't hurt very much.

Being pushed down nearly twenty stairs by an angry freshman...and then having him beat on me when I was still curled up in pain....that one really hurt

I lost the jewelery to one of my "male" piercings and didn't notice for a few hours. In order to get the barbell back in, my piercer had to use a series of tapers to stretch the piercing back to the correct size.
It was by far the most excruciating physical pain I've ever experienced.

I would have waited until later when he was alone and then sneaked up behind him. With a bat.

A few minutes of pain vs. losing the piercing? You know that body piercing isn't cheap, right?

All that I can pull up in recent memory is...
Full body hives breakout from an allergy that I never could pinpoint. Especially once the pain pills ware off. Could do little more than curl up into a ball and scream until the pills went into effect.
Another would probably be when I had to have surgery on a few of my toes while conscious.
I hope to keep it that way by not having children.

Asked, and answered
Me? Been stabbed and hit by a car but until I had my prostate done the worst pain was getting a huge, deep cyst that was on a gland in my neck lanced. It was like harakiri for my neck. But then...that prostate fix, was like harakiri for real.
Deep, sharp pains in sensitive locations that are already swollen, that's the kicker.

Some older member may remember the picture I posted of me surrounded by medical machines around my bed. Double pneumonia, dehydration etc. It wasn't cool.
But anyway, since then I scored a direct hit to the head by a metal bar.
In Holland, we got all these small canals. And most of them need to be opened by hand (small walkbridges etc). A substitute worker apparently forgot to lock the brake. And...bridges don't have small brakes. The power behind is was enough to get me a concussion. A concussion so bad, that the first thing I did was get on my feet and phone my boss that I would take the day off. I couldn't find the right keys on the pone though, they were suddenly all red and sticky. Strange...
So an old lady helped me to the other side of the bridge..were (ironically) a doctor resided. So, there you are sitting in your orange reflective jacket. Covered in red. Nice.

Probably the time a dog the size of a large kitchen table ripped my arm open. Thank goodness the owner got him off me before he could do any permanent damage. Oh, well, ten stitches took care of it.
Chapter 12 of A Soul Adrift is out.
Short stories:
T'katlu: On the planet Felucia, a young apprentice of the Dark Side thinks back to the beginning of her training as she lies in wait for her prey...
All the Time: After four years in the Unknown Regions, the Exile returns to the known galaxy to visit an old enemy.
Broken: A master of the Dark Side finds himself about to lose the one thing he cares about--and he will do anything to stop her from endangering herself.

I can't say I've ever been in terrible physical pain, the worst I can remember was senior year during football taking a helmet to the shin. I was down immediately and it hurt like hell, but I only missed one play so it obviously wasn't that bad. I was pretty lucky staying nearly injury free throughout my high school sports career.

I'm gonna have to go with the time I got a 6 foot metal chicken-spit in the knee. It managed to slip beneath the kneecap, and lodge itself there for about half an hour before the only member of the staff with first aid experience could help. It's never healed properly either, and it still aches like hell in the winter, and when it rains. Having to crawl and bend and kneel and such at my current job doesn't help, either.

Freshman year of high school, I had a complete fracture of my tibia and fibula, right above my right ankle during the last football practice of the year. I made it worse by trying to stand up right after it broke, nearly made it break the skin. The worst part was after getting to the hospital, since my mom was out of town and my dad couldn't get there for a few more hours they weren't allowed to give me any painkillers. Then they had to x-ray my ankle and the nurse kept grabbing, yanking and twisting at my broken ankle, that was probably the worst of it. About 2 hours after that my dad showed up, they gave me a Percocet and I woke up 2 days later with a screw in my leg and a huge cast on.

When I was about 3 or 4, I jumped off a jungle gym and chomped through my tongue. And I have the scar to prove it.
Also having 3 shots in my big toe to get a very painful ingrown toenail out 4 different times is also painful.

This may not be the most painful physical thing in my life ever, but it's one that comes to mind.
I was airsofting {Paintballing, but with plastic BBs} with my friends, and most of them were against me. I tried to pull a fast one by calling a truce to discuss a surrender with my "Enemy" friends. My plan was to grab their represenative and hold him hostage so as to prevent them from totally ruining my team's tactical position. So, I went over to the enemy's rep, and began talking. Then I moved quickly to grab the rep, but my small airsoft pistol got stuck in the holster and the enemy rep had a friend with him {who carried a 500 FPS machine gun that could break the skin at close range}
My friend runs and takes cover while his friend unloads a magazine of his BBs into my leg at point blank range. Some of the BBs ripped through my pants, and I think one is still stuck in my knee, anyway, it was a pretty nasty mess. Luckily we had "medics" with a first aid kit nearby.

My cousin once took an aluminum baseball bat to my groin. He wasn't the most intelligent individual, and being the "nerd" of the family, I tended to take some serious attacks when I was younger, but this one was prevalent just because how much it hurt. He was one of the best batters on his little league team, by the way. When you're vomiting and soiling yourself at the same time while lying in the fetal position for about thirty minutes, you know that's some serious pain.
It is all that is left unsaid upon which tragedies are built.

I’ve broken a leg, had more stenches than I can count, dislocated my shoulder multiple times, dislocated fingers, again multiple times, was cut across the neck with a knife, been shot with a 22, torn my ACL, burnt myself so severely with acid that you could see the bone in my finger, stuck a nail threw my hand, gotten a sliver of metal stuck in my eye, ran a jackhammer on my toes and sprained my ankle many times, and I can say without a doubt all those pains are easily tolerable. My worse pain ever came this year from passing a kidney stone. I begged for painkillers (something I have always refused) and then when it took too long, I begged someone to hit me over the head with a baseball bat or reach the top shelve in my closet for my shotgun shells, something I could not reach doubled over in pain.

When I was born, I had to have a section of my large intestine removed. Of course, I'm not 100% sure if they used any sort of anesthesia, so I bet it hurt like hell. Thankfully, I don't remember any of it.
After that, one time I had a rather unlucky sledding experience, where two sleds collided, and I, being the unlucky one, got a gashed lip. That part wasn't too painful, but getting stitches were pretty unpleasant. Especially when they had to inject the anesthetic in the open wound. Ow.

In 5th grade I was taking a PE test where we had to do a mile run--timed. Easy enough. I started running and I don't quite know what exactly happened, but I really hurt something in my knee--though the most likely thing that happened was that I stepped into a pothole. (The whole field was ridden with them) I can still feel it to this day. Hurt like hell
Other than that, I have nearly snapped my ankle a couple of years back. I was unloading the truck and on my way back I fell. You see, the curb was placed on a slope and when I stepped down I was caught off guard and slipped. It was all in slow motion...and I couldn't move my entire leg for a few minutes. Horrible pain, accompanied with horrible bruising all around my foot and ankle. I wasn't able to go to the doctor, still had to do some level of PE. Motrin, ice, and an ace bangage was all that I had.
Those two things, and being kicked in the groin. Some of the worst pain imaginable...

I've...
* Stepped on a sixteen penny nail. Twice (same foot even).
* Had a locker I was helping to carry dropped on my right hand before I was ready to set it down. Took over 45 minutes for all the lacerations to stop bleeding.
* Slit my wrist - almost... on accident while carving something plastic with an exacto knife. Came one skin layer away from slicing open an artery. Required two stitches.
* Had my mom say I pulled a tv on top of my head when I was... really young (lol), so I have this fracture-like spot on my forehead that I can still feel.
* My dog take me for a run across a freshly paved street when I was really little (I was five or six). I was so skinned up after that... I never took her for a walk again (my mom did it). xD
Im severly accident prone to the point I can hurt myself badly and wont know it til I see blood everywhere, or I see the injury and the pain kicks my ass. lol And yet, in all this time, Ive yet to actually break any bones. O.o Im sure Im do for a major accident requiring a cast or two though. >.>

Oy! That reminds me of my days with Boy Scouts a long time ago!
My friends and I were sitting on top of a large rock formation made up of 3 boulders. I was the closest to the edge, and I wasn't wearing hiking boots. I lost my footing and literally slid and stumbled down 20 feet. I didn't realize how banged up and bleeding I was until I looked. Soon afterward, I regretted looking at the blood, that's when the pain started

I'm the opposite of you Sazella; Pain follows me and I (subconsciously) follow it.
My list:
Stepped on a nail while helping build a house
Having to remove said nail (no medical supplies, unless a hammer counts.)
broken knee
that time I was really accident prone in fourth grade (I got hit by an inanimate object 2-3 times a day for a year, almost half on the head)
I almost set myself on fire (left my right shoulder a nice burn for a while)
in kindergarden, someone kicked a basketball (all the real kickballs were taken >_<), it bounced off the wall, and hit me in the... ahem, tender area.
When I almost broke my back
and some more I can't remember (probably due to another injury )

Getting hit in the balls by a softball hurts too.
I've also went head first over my bike and chipped my front two teeth and had bruises and cuts all over my face and arms.
Honestly though, the think getting hit in the balls by a softball hurt more.

Ahh, yes! I just remembered a rather painful event!
my friend threw a water bottle at me, and I tried to block it, but it hit my finger as I raised my hand to stop it. At that moment, my finger had bent several degrees in the direction it shouldn't be going. Amazing, at the time, I didn't think you could break a finger with a water bottle...

Probably when I slipped down the stairs (I still don't know how it happened) I hurt my back pretty bad and had to lie down for a while before I could even consider walking. Though by the next day the pain went away

My most painful experiences would have to be a toothache. Now it may not sound bad to some of you, but the pain feels like some one is beating your face in with a bat, and not even 1000mg(maximum dose) of Motrin or Tylenol could relieve the pain.
Next would have to be when I ramped my cousins bike (which I was much too big for) and landed right on the "jewels". I was in pain for 20 minutes and could barely breathe.
I also had smashed my head up against a brick wall, while playing roller hockey, at full speed. Luckily no serious damage was done.

O_O
Owwww...just reading some of these things hurts...
Well, other than being attacked by a very large dog, the only other thing that I've really done to myself was fall down in our gravel driveway and cut my big toe wide open, along with lacerating the rest of my foot pretty well, too. It bled. A lot. And, of course, just as my sister and I got back to the house to get my mom to bandage me up, the phone rang, and she was stuck for two hours. :/ Stinkin' thing never clotted the whole time.
Never broken any bones, though!
Of course, compared to the things that have happened to most of ya'll, that's nothin'. At all. 8O
Chapter 12 of A Soul Adrift is out.
