Alien Voices
Is there a list in KTOOL of all the alien voices? Not there soundsets as in Die, Attack, when hit, thats in the Sound.bif. But I cant find the voiceovers for talking. So far the only way Ive been able to do it is open dialog files.
Edit: Nevermind found it. Its in a 2da file.
EDIT2: I happened to notice the "Walrusman"(that alien who looks like a fish kinda but not selcath) dosent have a entry. Does he ever talk or is he just in placeables?

"Walrusman" is the old ANH-era name for an Aqualish.

Pretty sure he has at least a line or two in K1. On Taris there are two of Davik's thugs hitting a guy up for payment opposite the medical center, outside the transition point to the second upper level. One of them is an Aqualish. I'm sure he says something.

He does, but they used the same avo's as the Ithorians. True Aqualish sounds you only get to hear in TSL. Same goes for… the squid-heads, what are they called… the Quarren.

Thanks, I also noticed Trandoshans and Nikto did not have entrys. But I no for a fact Trandos have some. Did Niktos? I think there was one that talked on Taris, Ill check.
EDIT: Niktos use Twilek Voices.

I think some of them use Swoopgang instead, for variety.

Sorry, I wasn't at home when I posted earlier. I guess I was thinking about the soundset files. I knew that the Nikto are called Swoop_Gang in all their appearance references, and so are their attack grunts (and other noises). The variations in male Twi'leks that I was thinking about are some .wav files start with N_GTmtwlek_ and the more common ones start with N_GMtwilek_. I can't remember if some Nikto also use the N_GTmtwlek files.

Don't trust that 2da, I don't recall anything in the game that relies on it. If you want to know how many alien voices KotOR has, look in the streamwaves folder. For TSL it is different, you have that 2da and dialogs actually use it.

Yeah, and K2 has much more alien voices (each species has its own); and they are also less annoying (IMO). The only sad part is that many of them are not used in the game. The sound files are there, and they work, but unfortunately I couldn't find any lipsync files for them. I worked around the issue by assigning those .lip's to them that are used for voice files of similar length and dialog, and it works nicely - you can barely tell the difference from the proper lip's. And yes, I know there's a lipsync editor out there, but I was able to achieve better results using this arguably easier method.
