they may or may not have
I have decided to personally not consider EMI part of the series. As far as I'm concerned TMI is the MI4 or MI5 as if MI4 didn't exist.

I think the voting is kinda broken, the top five list stays the same, as if no one votes after the first few days.

There's some truly awful entries, but I liked "He stole my identity. The worst part is he gave me his in return!"

I also liked one that said something like "he put toothpaste in my grog... I'm minty fresh, but I'm also angry!" except I can't find it to vote for it anymore.

Also, "He tatooed a parrot on my face while I was grogged !" won the first round? WTF?

Either that or we've all already lost interest.

I just want more rubber tree talk really.

Now that's a funny one. People at telltale must be watching this competition through the cracks between their fingers right now. By the end of this competition I fully expect the whole website to be replaced by a single line of text: "WHAT HAVE WE DONE?!"

I think maybe the solution to this is that we come up with something simple but funny together, someone submits it, and we all vote for it each week.

I'm a poor writer, but everything you guys come up with here on the forum is a lot better than a lot of what keeps getting voted on in my opinion.

Yeah, I agree. I'm crap at this too though, I think the best person so far has been Davius with "He sunk my battleship!"

Here we go again, the first quote of the week: I thought he was a classy wench when I saw him from the behind and he ruined my dreams by turning around!

By the way, I noticed how last week there were at least two different people who submitted the quote: "He sunk my battleship!". There's nothing wrong if the original author want's to put his quote back into play but stealing quotes like that is just so very lame. Might be a coincidence too but I doubt it.

I thought I would try again this week: "He sunk my battleship!"

It ended up in fourth place in week one, but it looks like only the entries in first place are being kept as winners. There also doesn't seem to be any rules against submitting the same line again, so since quite a few people liked it I decided to re-submit it!

Anyway, votes are very welcome!

Yeah, I noticed one of them when I looked at the contest page yesterday. I didn't realise there were two! Someone duplicated it in the first week too, but that was just a coincidence, as they posted on the Telltale forum shortly afterwards saying they'd realised I had already submitted it.

I propose everyone here vote for Davius' entry

It's 2nd place right now.

Okay, here's my entry for week 3!

He played 'pin the tail on the donkey'. With my Manx cat as the donkey.

Looks like the final round has started. Thank god for those Telltale picks. We actually have some funny lines to choose from. So, should we now maybe choose one common entry and vote it to death just to be safe? What do you think? I kind of like "He dug up my perfectly good X!!".

I went for the eye one. I am surprised how bad some are, like the George Bush one. I mean, the guy isn't even in office any more.

Yeah. And I'm pretty sure that "insulfeated" isn't a real word.

"Grogged" and "tells" are also completely wrong. Hooray for raping the English language.

I might forgive those little things since the posters might be from all over the world and I'm sure Telltale would fix the lines if they won. I might forgive that if the lines we're any good. They're not.

We really have to pull together to stop them from winning. Telltale's done a lot already to try and have some decent winners and now it's our turn.

I had to go with the dug up the X one.

Some of those are very long and I also have no idea why the George Bush one was popular enough to make it in a final. It's not like CMI had Guybrush or anyone making Bill Clinton jokes like Leno or something.

Oh my days. I've not really been following so but just to check, those six are the six most popular entries and have a chance at being in the game?

********, they're terrible. I hope Telltale rigs the vote and then never does this again.

You mean the way the sea stays steady as a rock and the buildings keep washing up and down? Yes I thought that was odd.

I voted for the "he dug up my X" one.

I can't believe the "He insulfeated me in a major sword fight by claiming that my fighting skills were equivalent to George Bushes language skills" one is a finalist...

Insulfeated .... language skills

Oh, the irony.

Wait! Language skills...insulfeated...I...I think I got it. I think that's the joke! It's purposeful! ...But it doesn't really make it any better. In fact, it makes it slightly worse.

I really don't like the parrot tatoo and the George Bush finalists. I don't think a joke about George Bush could ever be good in a Monkey Island game.

But that aside, I kinda like the one about the pirate with one eye.

Well I guess it could be worse. Some of the ones that involve Guybrush with illegitimate children or cheating on Elaine could have made it...

I guess it's a popular concept among many Monkey Island fans?

Well, maybe not so much the ones that browse Mixnmojo.

Though I bet there's tons of fan fiction out there where Guybrush has 12 kids from 7 pirate ladies and regularly has steamy love affairs with everyone except Elaine.
