Prologue

The year is 1943, and the Third Reich is at the heighth of its power, and most of Europe is entering a Dark Age as the Nazi tyranny tightens its grip.
At this time, there are many dark secrets in the heart of Germany, dark secrets that could change the very face of the Earth.

But one secret has been discovered. A small town in Southern Germany is in fact the site of a massive secret weapons project, operating on an unknown source.

A small resistance force was able to infiltrate the facility and obtain a small sample of a deadly unknown substance. They also discovered information and weaponry that was highly advanced, perhaps 60-70 years ahead of any equipment the allies had. The group paid greatly for this information, managing to get the sample to an SOE agent before being completely annihilated by the SS.

This sample was brought back to England, and was analyzed by the best scientists that could be found in the Allied powers. The final analyzation was kept secret, but a standing order was given that this substance must be identified, its reason discovered, and its source destroyed.

The SOE has created a joint task force of agents from all of the Allied Powers, all of them unified for the single purpose of finding and destroying this substance...

...before it's too late.

January 5, 1943
London, England
64 Baker Street
0900 Hours

Colonel Alfred Ferris gently pushed the curtain of the window to the side, getting a good look at the crowded London street outside.

He was inside a small, abandoned, flat, long abandoned since the Blitz of 1940...the ideal Headquarters for the members of the SOE, or Special Operations Executive, Her Majesty's 'arm of espionage.'

Of course, today would be a special one. For the first time, at least to Ferris' extensive knowledge, they would be pulling in members from Allied powers and other intelligence forces.

That is why Ferris watched the street carefully, waiting for the arrival of the 'volunteers' for this risky operation. Of course, none of them knew this had to do with the SOE, only that they had recieved orders to report to 64 Baker street, and that's all they needed to know.

A voice came out of the darkness of the Flat.

"You know, Ferris, if you keep looking out that same window every 5 minutes, some curious bloke will spot you and wonder what you're doing in such a place..."

The voice was that of 'Mr. Will,' Ferris' contact with the highly secretive SOE.

The British Colonel looked at his friend, who's face was covered by the shadows of the unlit room.

"Hmm, you're always thinking about what could go wrong, aren't you, Will?"

He heard a chuckle, "In my business, Colonel Ferris, you must assume that everything that can go wrong, will go wrong."

Ferris nodded, "Indeed. Still, some amount of risk must be taken to achieve success."

"That's correct, but necessary risk, no need to do anything too risky. Ahhh...well, I'm going to make some tea, our friends are late. Not that I'm surprised."

The Colonel snorted, "Well, half of them are Americans...all ego and no timing."

He heard Mr. Will laugh aloud, something rare, and then left the room.

Ferris turned away, and for the 6th time in the past hour, he nudged the curtain to the side and took another lookout for the 'guests.'

Mittenwald, Southern Germany
Commandant's Post
0900 hours

"ACHTUNG!"

The loud click of booted feet greeted Waffen SS Sturmbannfuhrer Friedrich Wolff as he stepped out of the staff car.

He looked out at the line of black class SS soldiers right as they were commanded, "EYES RIGHT!" Their heads moving in unison to face their commanding officer.

Effeciency.

This is what Wolff loved.

And it was something his job demanded, as commander of Special Operations and Experimentation of this sector.

Another black clad soldier, this time an officer, came forward, snapping his heels together and saluting.

"HERR STURMBANNFUHRER! I trust the morning drive finds you well?"

Wolff nodded, his face remaining rigidly cold as he spoke.

"It went well, Leutnant Dürer. But I noticed that the patrols of the southern town were 5 minutes later then usual. We can't afford to be late, not even by 5 minutes. Give a warning to the squad assigned there. Disciplinary action will be taken if this continues..."

Leutnant Dürer nodded, "Jawohl, I will ensure this won't happen again, Mein Herr."

"Sehr gut."

He looked at the mountains ahead of the town, his mind a million miles away.

The SS Commandant knew that it wouldn't be long until the Allies caught on to what they were doing here. Their Operations were too....massive...too...world-changing, to go ignored for so long.

Wolff, walked forward to the red brick Officer's building in front of him, a bright red flag with a black swastika hanging from the top window.

He needed to get to work.

Germany's technology would be greatly advanced if the facility under his command did well today...

Lauren walked through the busy streets of London. She was dressed casually. A green dress with brown leather boots and a black trenchcoat. She looked around. She was carrying a small piece of paper in her hand. She had scribbled down the address to which she was supposed to arrive. She entered the building after knocking a few times and went in. She then opened the door to find a man close to the window.

"French Resistance Operative Lauren Delacroix reporting for duty", Lauren said saluting Ferris. "I was told to come zere to meet wiz ze new unit members."

Ferris looked away from the window and lit a lamp in the dark room. He returned then saluted and smiled.

"Mademoiselle Delacroix, it is a pleasure to meet you."

He looked around the room, "Unfortunately, the unit isn't quite here yet...Americans...it's good to see the French have a good sense of time, if you do not mind me saying."

Mr. Will stepped into the room, out of the darkness, rather suddenly. It seemed to be a characteristic of the man.

"Oh, so, Miss Delacroix has arrived? Oh, good...well, I suppose I should make 3 cups of tea then. What tea do you prefer, Miss Delacroix?"

Ferris couldn't help but chuckle at his friend, Mr. Will, he had the most interesting way of meeting new people.

"Oh, by the way, my colleague here is Mr. Will, I am Colonel Ferris of Her Majesty's Royal Commandoes. Pleasure to be of service."

He nodded his head in a greeting.

Edward Jackson made his way through the streets. He clearly was enjoying himself; one could tell by the way he walked. He was instructed to meet a Colonel Ferris and this looked like the place to him. He shrugged his shoulders and stepped inside.

"Unfortunately, the unit isn't quite here yet...Americans...it's good to see the French have a good sense of time, if you do not mind me saying."

Jackson laughed when he heard someone say that. He looked to see Colonel Ferris, a very good looking woman, and someone else.

"That's a good one Colonel Ferris, its good to see you have a sense of humor. Lance Corporal Edward Jackson at your service, but don't let my rank fool you. You point out a target and I can hit it."

Lauren grinned at the Colonel and nodded in appreciation.

"Oh, so, Miss Delacroix has arrived? Oh, good...well, I suppose I should make 3 cups of tea then. What tea do you prefer, Miss Delacroix?"

She turned to face Mr. Will and grinned as well. She was accustomed to this being an infiltration specialist herself, being in the shadows was something common for her aswell.

"I will take lemon tea zank you", Lauren said with a bow.

"Oh, by the way, my colleague here is Mr. Will, I am Colonel Ferris of His Majesty's Royal Commandoes. Pleasure to be of service."

"On ze contrary colonel, ze pleasure is all mine", Lauren said nodding in acknowledgement. She turned to see another person enter the room. An american by the looks of it and by the way he spoke. She nodded in his direction as he presented himself.

"Lauren Delacroix, French resistance", she replied.

John Reynolds enjoyed walking the streets of London immensely, just looking at all the history, all the sights, all of the places an ambush could hide. The last one was his problem as he walked through the streets, avoiding the occasional crater in the road. He didn't know where he was going, but he did know where the person he was following was.

He saw his mark, an American Soldier -Lance Corporal from the looks of him- open a door to a 'flat', so that's where we're supposed to meet, he mused to himself, wishing he'd been able to talk with the other American before he'd followed him.

Muttering a few curses under his breath, Reynolds continued past the safehouse, watching for a place to sit and wait inconspiciously, there, an underground station!

Sitting down at a bench in front of the underground opening, Reynolds pulled out a paper he'd snagged on his way in. Opening it up he kept an eye on the safehouse as well as on the paper.

Wonder how long it will take for them to notice me?

Dave Tennan walked slowly through the streets of london with a frown on his face. Dave was late to a meeting. Dave didn't like being late.

He was dressed in a black Commando's uniform with no hat and a pair of black boots complete with a set of grey gloves.

Shouldn't have slept in so late this morning I suppose. But it was my one day off to visit with friends and now this cursed letter ruined my day.

He quickly arrived at the house where the letter had told him to go and knocked once before entering.

"John Tennan: Formally Her Majesty's Royal Commandos at your service."

"That's a good one Colonel Ferris, its good to see you have a sense of humor. Lance Corporal Edward Jackson at your service, but don't let my rank fool you. You point out a target and I can hit it."

Ferris turned to face the newcomer.

"Corporal, I suppose then that I was incorrect with my judgement, good to see you're here. Oh, and we do have a good record of your skills."

Ferris gestured to the file folders he held in his hands.

"I will take lemon tea zank you."

Mr. Will nodded, "Alright, lemon it is then...I best get moving before we have anymore people come in...the kettle can only give enough tea for 4...and Americans, well, nevermind."

He disappeared back into the shadowy part of the flat, no doubt heading for the kitchen.

Suddenly, another man walked through the door. John Tennan, judging by his profile detailed in the files Ferris had read.

"John Tennan: Formally Her Majesty's Royal Commandos at your service."

Ferris invited the man in, showing him to the rest of the group.

"Well, unfortunate you were 'formally' with the Commandoes, from what I understand we could sure use the likes of you with your former unit...currently in Norway. Aw well, if you didn't leave them then you wouldn't be with the unit we're forming here...."

The British colonel took out the file folders he held and checked how many of the marked persons were here.

Almost everyone, minus one.

He went to the window and once again, pushed the curtain to the side, observing the street.

He saw something out of the ordinary, someone was sitting in front of the Underground Station entryway. He checked his files, and soon identified the man as "John Reynolds," one of the marked persons.

Thank God for intelligence...He thought, chuckling aloud.

"Well, it seems our next guest wants to observe us first..."

He walked to the door, opened it, and looked directly at the man. Ferris, for a moment forgetting the fact that no one was supposed to be in this flat, waved his arms at Reynolds. He then closed the door.

"He should be here any minute now."

Ming Wang walked through the streets of London. He saw all the ruined or damaged buildings from the Blitz. It reminded him a bit too much of what had happened at Shanghai, his hometown, but he supposed that war was just that: destruction. He walked down Baker street towards where he was assigned, and walked into a room with different people assembled. "Ming Wang lepo-" Wang stopped himself. Despite being educated in both English and Chinese, he would still mix up his L's and R's, much to his embarassment. He started again. "Ming Wang reporting, sir. Sorry I was late. This is my first time in London, and I got lost with all the different street names. So, why are we all here?"

"Lauren Delacroix, French resistance"

"Nice to meet you Miss Delacroix," Jackson said doing his best to pronounce her last name.

He walked further into the room in case anyone else showed up. He leaned up against a wall and waited for the others to show up. First a Britsh Commando walked in, followed by an asian man. He couldn't help but chuckle at the mixed group.

"Ming Wang reporting, sir. Sorry I was late. This is my first time in London, and I got lost with all the different street names. So, why are we all here?"

"He's right, exactly why are we all here because from the looks of it you're trying to host a multi racial tea party. Should we be expecting a Russian to show up too sir?"

It was a small attempt to lighten the mood but he figured it might help ease the awkwardness of the situation.

"Ming Wang reporting, sir. Sorry I was late. This is my first time in London, and I got lost with all the different street names. So, why are we all here?"

Ferris nodded to Ming. From what intelligence reports said, he'd do well on the mission. Though his...being Chinese would be difficult to hide in Europe. Hopefully they would mistake him for Japanese.

"He's right, exactly why are we all here because from the looks of it you're trying to host a multi racial tea party. Should we be expecting a Russian to show up too sir?"

Ferris winced at the statement, to say such a thing was slightly rude, but he knew that Jackson had meant it in good humour.

"Erm, well, if the Russians came, I'm not sure how long we'd really last where we're going."

Mr. Will walked in, baring 3 cups of tea, one for Miss Delacroix, one for Ferris, and one for himself. None for the Americans, Mr. Will was a loyalist like that.

Mr. Will spoke, "Well, if this were a multi-racial tea party, then I'd imagined I'd have made everyone tea. Heheh, aw well, at least you're all straight to the point on what this meeting is about."

Ferris sealed the door and window, he couldn't allow any information leaks, not now.

"Well, are all of you keen on the fact that Germany is in complete control of most of Europe, and we have no bloody idea on what he's doing in certain parts of these countries?"

Reynolds looked at the safehouse over his paper, noticing that somebody had recognized him and was waving from the window. Damn, so much for careful observation! He raged within his mind. Well, at least it's the right place, at least one other person went in.

He got up from the bench and left the newspaper, if a bum could use it later, then he'd donate it, wasn't like he'd need it anyway.

Stifling a yawn -was it still morning? - Reynolds trekked towards the house, a cautious hand inside his jacket, ready to draw his automatic if needed. He didn't know why he had such bad vibes from this mission, but he trusted his instincts, they rarely led him astray.

He stood in front of the door and paused before knocking, still a chance to back out... the tiny voice in his head he called reason offered. He ignored the voice and knocked on the door.

Ferris nodded, the outburst from the American was to be expected, alot of them were like that.

"Well, it's good to know you are. You're zeal will definately come in use with what we are going to do..."

He was deliberately keeping the mission secret. He needed to wait until the right time to reveal the true nature of their mission.

Suddenly, he heard a knock on the door, and turned around to open it.

Ferris chuckled, his red mustache tickling his skin as he did so.

"Well, good to see that you decided to come inside and join us Mr. Reynolds."

"Well, good to see that you decided to come inside and join us Mr. Reynolds."

Reynolds shrugged, "Nothing better to do."

He walked into the safe house proper and took a quick stock of those present, nobody who looked like a threat, but it was the quiet guy in the corner you worried about, not the local toughs at the bar.

He found a chair nearby and sat down, finally removing the death grip he had on his automatic and relaxed. "So, looking at the mix we're involved in Super-Secret-Spy-Stuff. And since you're English, not American, I can assume that this is being run by the SOE...." He looked at the eclectic mix, "Nobody here jumps out at me as particularly dangerous, which means we're headed straight to Nazi Germany..... They've developed something, something very dangerous and we're tasked to destroy it. Am I right?"

He looked expectantly at the Englishman with the red mustache, still not quite at ease with the group.

"And is that tea I smell?"

((Eh, didn't seem like a huge jump to me logic wise, any complaints about the logic chain CQ?))

((No complaints, it developes character ))

"So, looking at the mix we're involved in Super-Secret-Spy-Stuff. And since you're English, not American, I can assume that this is being run by the SOE...." He looked at the eclectic mix, "Nobody here jumps out at me as particularly dangerous, which means we're headed straight to Nazi Germany..... Ferris nodded, but Mr. Will, always quick to defend secrets until the proper time, put the tea down and faced Mr. Reynolds.

"Hmpf. Americans. Assuming you know everything with your....logic trains...ohh goodness."

The British Colonel raised his eyebrows.

"Unfortunately, their assumptions often end up being correct."

Ferris walked over to the table, putting his file folders down and began to sort through them.

"And is that tea I smell?"

Mr. Will, still flustered by the American's being correct in his assumption, responded, rather sarcastically.

"No. It's Napoleon Brandy mixed with coffee."

Ferris looked at Mr. Will, "Come, come, let's not get too angry at eachother just yet. We've still got briefing to get through."

He took a map of Southern Germany out of one of the manila folders, spreading it out on the table. He also took a vial of a pinkish-blue liquid and placed it right next to the map.

A beefy-finger pointed to a small town.

"Mittenwald. A small alpine town in Southern Germany. It's location and size would dissallude any aircraft as to what was really going on not far from town."

He gestured to the vial, "A local resistance group and a certain source have confirmed that a small, but heavily protected testing bunker, is not but 3.5 kilometers from Mittenwald. Reports suggest....strange things have been occuring. We've no idea what has been tested, but we think this pink-blue liquid may be key to understanding what is happening."

He grabbed it and held it for all to see.

"Do any of you recognize it?"

((Alright))

"Hmpf. Americans. Assuming you know everything with your....logic trains...ohh goodness."

Great, another limey who's bitter about the Revolution. Reynolds thought to himself, well, better if he's in front of me than behind, less chance of a knife in the back.

"Unfortunately, their assumptions often end up being correct."

Reynolds groaned a little, nothing too loud, only somebody actively searching for something would've heard it. "Great, just great." He muttered.

"No. It's Napoleon Brandy mixed with coffee."

"Then you're having breaks with reality," Reynolds shot back. "Thinking you have enough of a budget for Napoleon brandy." He shook his head a little, playing every inch the disappointed school master.

"Do any of you recognize it?"

Reynolds looked at it hard, didn't look like anything he'd used during his time as an auto mechanic, maybe anti-freeze, but that's it. He shook his head, muttering to himself. "Looks almost like anti-freeze, but doesn't have the right consistency for it."

((lolz, typed Evans a few times instead of Reynolds as I was typing this up, I'm prolly staying up too late then ))

"Do any of you recognize it?"

Jackson stared at the liquid in the vial. He had no idea what it did but he had a hunch.

"Something tells me that thing packs a bigger punch than anti-freeze. My guess is its gotta be some sort of new chemical to either make their bombs bigger or make them hit a lot harder. What do you think Laur?"

Lauren took the cup from Mr. Will and gave him a faint smile and a nod.

"Zank you Mr. Will", Lauren said as she took a zip from her tea cup. She listened to all the exchanges of the present. And she was even more intrigued by what Colonel Ferris was talking about. What was so secret that the Germans were hiding? Was it indeed a new Weapon?

She looked at the vial of pink-blue fluid that colonel Ferris showed them. She had not seen anything like it before so she shook her head.

"It is nozing I 'ave ever seen before", Lauren asnwered shruging.

"It is nozing I 'ave ever seen before."

Ferris wasn't surprised on their answers. The liquid had already been analyzed several times, the results differing everytime. Maybe it might end up being anti-freeze, judging by how none of them knew what it was.

"Well, no worries, not even our top scientists could fully comprehend what this is....they did put it through numerous tests though. Our scientists were amazed with it, saying that a single drop could keep an armored vehicle running for longer then any fuel could...hard to believe."

He put the vial back down.

"And they said, if placed in an explosive device, is capable of amplifying the explosion by ten-fold...maybe more. But these are just theories, and the true secrets are with the Germans in Mittenwald...at least that we suspect. There is no telling how far our Axis enemies have advanced if they've really come up with this...chemical."

Ferris grabbed another file from the pile, checking it to make sure it was the right one.

"An infiltration will be considerably risky, and all of your abilities will be greatly needed....and you'll need more then that as well."

Jack was just walking around the familiar London city, when he remembered he had a meeting today. He was dressed out of uniform, simply dressed in a tight-fitting suit, a shirt with open collar and some scarves. He checked his wristwatch.

"****!" he said and turned around. He was twenty minutes late. He broke into a run, sprinting all the way to the meeting room, arriving five minutes later. He knocked and entered the room, a very polite expression on his face.

"Hello, gentlemen," Jack said in a somewhat posh accent "And lady," he added when he noticed the woman among the group. He took her hand and casually kissed it, as he was raised to do whenever he met a woman. He then sat down in a chair and asked:

"So, what did i miss?"

Wang listened to Ferris explain what the strange vial was. He knew that the Japanese were bad, but at least they weren't making some superweapon. He couldn't help but feel a bit afraid of what other things Germany could be making with that liquid.

"An infiltration will be considerably risky, and all of your abilities will be greatly needed....and you'll need more then that as well."

"Infiltration? But, if I go, won't that compromise the mission?" Wang asked, after realizing he was the only one who wasn't European. "I could be mistaken for a Japanese, but even then, you can ter- uh, tell the difference between both people after you see enough Chinese and Japanese. I have my doubts Japan is in on this, so this could be difficult."

"So, what did i miss?"

"Oh, just a briefing on how Germany could win the war." Wang said nonchalantly.

Jackson looked over at Ming Wang and gave him and smiled.

"So we won't give them the chance. Hang on a sec, I know I've got a spare in one of these pockets."

He fiddled around with his pockets until he found what he was looking for; a pair of sunglasses. He twirled them around in his fingers for a few seconds before walking over to Ming.

"You're lucky I keep an extra pair of these, but they should help."

He smiled again and gave him a thumbs up. He turned back over to Colonel Ferris.

"Well we know where we're going now, and what we're going to do but I'm still a bit confused. You know what skills we have to offer but the rest of us don't. I figure I'd say what I do best so everyone knows what I do in combat. I'm Edward Jackson and I'm a Marksman."

Lauren raised an eyebrow as she heard the word "infiltration", this was the thing she was most adept at. She had been trained to infiltrate Nazi compounds and installations. She was even taught German and could speak it without accent but she could fake to be austrian without problem.

She listened to the other chat as she drank the last of her tea. She looked up and saw Jackson introduce himself and say what his specialty was.

"I am an infiltration specialist, but I'm adept in weapons and 'and to 'and combat. I am also fluent in German which is required for my job", Lauren said.

"You're lucky I keep an extra pair of these, but they should help."

Mr. Will almost spat out his tea as he chuckled.

"American ingenuity...and simple, quite excellent. But unfortunately we'll need more then sunglasses to get past the SS....we've been working on a cover for Wang. Our operatives in the Pacific have confirmed the trade of information between the Japanese and Germans...a Japanese Embassy will most definately be at Mittenwald's bunker...due the fact that both the Japanese and Nazis are working together to end our 'miserable' existence."

Ferris gestured to the folders, "The SOE will have something ready very quickly...though this may mean you will be seperate from the rest of the squad occasionally, to fulfill your duties as an Ambassador on the staff of Oshima, Japan's diplomat in Berlin....we'll come up with something."

He took a sip from his tea and looked at the map of Mittenwald again.

"Well we know where we're going now, and what we're going to do but I'm still a bit confused. You know what skills we have to offer but the rest of us don't. I figure I'd say what I do best so everyone knows what I do in combat. I'm Edward Jackson and I'm a Marksman."

Ferris nodded, "We're well aware of that, Corporal...you're unique skills mean you won't be infiltrating like some of the others."

He looked around for any facial responses, "What I mean is...we'll be splitting into 2 groups, one will travel incognito into Mittenwald, and the others paradropped and met by the local resistance. After reaching Mittenwald, you will proceed to a point half a kilometer south out of the outskirts of the town."

"I am an infiltration specialist, but I'm adept in weapons and 'and to 'and combat. I am also fluent in German which is required for my job."

Ferris smiled, "Excellent, Miss Delacroix. That is why you too will be infiltrating via disguise. The others with you will be Wang and Reynolds. We've pre-prepared several covers in case worse comes to worse."

"Well, I'm not quite trained for infiltration, not something that Airborn normally gets, but I'm a good-enough scout and I can jump out of perfectly good aircraft. That's about all you'll need to know, aside from the fact that I can use just about anything you throw my way weapon wise." Reynolds shrugged, it was a side effect of the depression that he could shoot almost anything, the amount of mobster weapons one could find easily was astounding.

Reynolds looked a Wang, the sunglasses helped, but something else.... something that would distract..... "You guys have a hat?" He asked his 'hosts', cause if we give Wang a bowler hat along with the glasses...." Reynolds shrugged. "Well, every little bit helps, and the less they're concentrating on his face the better."

((What is it about the RP's I'm involved with and splitting into 2 groups?))

"Well, I thank you for that, and I can go with that plan, but I think the sunglasses would still help, though," said Wang, taking the glasses from Jackson and thanking him for it. "Like I said before, there are subtle differences between Chinese and Japanese people that Westerners can't seem to pick up. No offense to you guys. Also, I'm more skilled in demolitions. I think Miss Delaclo- uh, Miss Delacroix" - Wang still struggled to pronounce her name correctly - "would need to teach me some tricks of the trade, but I don't think there's time for that."

"Well, every little bit helps, and the less they're concentrating on his face the better"

"Yes, that would help. It would make the disguise more..." Wang searched for the right word. "Effective." Wang now felt confident. Unless there was a hiccup in the infiltration, or some other random event, he believed that things would go smoothly, and the mission would be successful.

Ferris nodded, "We understand that your strength is not in under-cover work, but you will help the others with parachute training. Someone of experience around gives the new jumpers a sense of confidence most the time."

"You guys have a hat? Cause if we give Wang a bowler hat along with the glasses...."

Mr. Will muttered under his breath, "...and create a stereotype in the process..."

Ferris nodded to Reynolds, "We can do that."

He then looked to Wang, "There should be enough time for you and Miss Delacroix to work on your skills, but not much. Our departure time is to be kept secret, and until then, you are all to stay with us here, with SOE. If you tell ANYONE of what was spoken of here, you will be shot as a traitor. We're dealing with things so high above ourselves that any small mistake could change the course of our time."

He took a sip of his tea, and sat down in a chair and looked at the map of Mittenwald.

"..I really wish we had an actual idea of what we're going after..."

Mittenwald
Commandant's Headquarters

Sturmbannfuhrer Wolff looked stood completely still as he watched 3 local resistance fighters marched over to the gray wall that surrounded his HQ. They had been found trying to plant mines on one of the Northern roads, and as they were caught red-handed, were sentenced to death on the spot.

One of the resistance fighters was an older man of more experience, and his face was somber, but still had some fight left in him, even in his hopeless situation.

The other two fighters were a younger man, and a boy, that couldn't have been of 14 years of age.

It surprised Wolff that Germans would resist their own government, after all that they had done for the Fatherland.

He shook his head. They were no longer German. True Germans do not resist the will of the Fuhrer. They were now the enemy, and were to be treated as such.

The 3 fighters had made it to the center of the wall, and 5 SS soldiers lined up in front of them, K-98s glistening in the sun.

One of the Leutnants motioned for the squad to take positions, and the 14 year-old suddenly began to cry. The boy had lost the nerve that had made him fight the SS so fervently.

Wolff nodded to the Leutnant that he could commence the execution, and he turned to leave the complex, getting into his staff car. Right as he closed the door of the car, he heard the loud crack of rifle-fire.

And the impact of metal against flesh.

"Yes, that would help. It would make the disguise more... Effective"

"Can you put on some of that makeup women use to make their face look whiter? And here," Jack said and took off his chalk-striped hat, going to Wang and putting it on his head. "Add some makeup to that, and you are golden."

Jack turned to Lauren.

"Do you have any of that powder stuff, miss Delacroix?" he asked with a smile.

"I don't like where this is going," said Wang, a bit unsure. "Besides, they may see my eyes, which are differently shaped, so that could backfire. I think the disguise that Reynolds suggested would work out."

"Yeah, and I just gave you the hat," Jack said. "Just saying that it will be much less chance of being discovered if you get makeup." Jack paused. "I know, I'll take you to the guy who does makeup for all the theaters and movies. He owes me one." He chuckled.

"And even if he didn't, I could just pay him."

Reynolds glared at Mister Will, he didn't know what the man's problem was, but ever since he'd gotten in here it had been one snide comment after another. Damn Limeys, he thought to himself, somewhat disgusted.

"We understand that your strength is not in under-cover work, but you will help the others with parachute training. Someone of experience around gives the new jumpers a sense of confidence most the time."

Reynolds blinked once, twice, three times. "You're going to have this group Jumping?" He said quietly, wondering what idiot had thought up this plan, one did not simply pick up the skills needed for Jumping like the rain.

"Add some makeup to that, and you are golden."

Reynolds smiled at the other man's enthusiasm. "The whole point of the hat and glasses is to distract them by showing them exactly what they want to see. Once you change the skin color the face isn't going to look right and that'll throw up warning flags all over the place. Besides, that stuff's water-soluable, so once it rains Wong will be back to his old self."

Reynolds looked over at the map of Mittenwald. "Ever get the feeling that something's staring you right in the face but you can't see it?" He asked Ferris, gesturing at the map. "I know I'm seeing something here that's familiar, but I can't come up with it."

"You're going to have this group Jumping?"

Ferris looked up from the map.

"Yes, I know, it sounds insane, but believe me, it is certainly better then walking. We have don't have the time to fully train our operatives in both parachute training and infiltration....and I feel horrible about it. Normally, we'd teach you everything you needed to know, but the report at Mittenwald could not be ignored...SHAEF itself demanded that neutralize the problem. This is going to be a Leap of Faith......"

"Ever get the feeling that something's staring you right in the face but you can't see it? I know I'm seeing something here that's familiar, but I can't come up with it."

Ferris nodded and gestured to the map once again.

"Yes indeed, we know it's on this map, but where? What is it? Hmmm....time, if only we had more time."

But there could be no more time. Ferris knew this, and he hoped the others knew as well. The Nazi's wouldn't give them time, it was either stop them now, or wait for them to come up with something terrifying.

Mittenwald
Commandant's Post

Sturmbannfuhrer Wolff stepped into his office and immediately began reading the days reports.

Facility Bruno Report:

Chemical Xa1 Testing going as scheduled. Test A has yielded results that this chemical can be weaponized, as well as used to industrial advantage. May be involved with Nuclear Testing with Facility Axel.

Facility Kohler Report:

STG-44 class of Assault Rifles and above have been tested, using implemented points fueld with Xa1 Chemical. Infra-red scopes tested positive. Recommend immediate contact with Berlin to begin production. Weapon STG-3xa1 tested positive as well, all electro-pulse technology working accordining to original plan. For further completion, we require Nuclear Power. Recommend to Der Fuhrer in Berlin.

Wolff looked carefully through the reports, checking off list requirements and putting signatures at others. This job was more or less boring, as there was little to no action here, other then the occasional Resistance strike. He hoped that he may be able to use the Mittenwald Facilities' weapons soon....perhaps on the resistance.

[i[Yes....that would be wunderbar....[/i]

Mittenwald, Deutchland.
Sam looked out his window into the street. The people outside walked without knowing what the truth was. He pitied them for their ignorance. He went downstairs and exited his house into the street. He looked at the letter left in the crack in the wall.

"This is interesting. Time for a raid, Ich denke." Sam said. He'd have to call up his other comrades-at-arms and see if they were up to the task.
"Soon, the reich shall tumble."

Deep thought #1: In the end, everyone dies. No one can outrun time, death itself is always breathing down your neck, just waiting to slip the noose over you. But, in your time of death, what matters is not when or how or even why. What matters is what you do with it. Do you sit down and call it quits, or do you get up, stare your killer and death itself in the face, and laugh copiously, right until the end.
