Seems as if some of the speculation in this thread was correct:
spoiler:Starkiller is indeed a clone in TFU2.
Lame, but I guess there were limited options.

Oh my god... When a nerd forum speculation hits the bullseye the results can only be horrible.

IGN has a first look at TFU2 - http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/109/1091551p1.html
Not a whole lot of new info, but it seems they are making an effort to reduce some of the tedium of the first game. I'm not sure that puzzle-solving would have been the top of my solution list though...
Warning - article contains some spoilers.

I have a first look from Power Unlimited lying in front of me...core business:
-2 Sabers, ALWAYS. Can't choose to use 1.
-He's not necessarily a spoiler:clone
. Vader says yes, Kota says no.
-Vader has tortured you to near-insanity...explains the visions in the CGI trailer.
-More variety. More platform jumping, DMM sensitive puzzles, no quick-time events.
-New Powers: Group Force Grip, Mind trick, Force Fury.
-Self-doubt is the central theme, which leads to the search for spoiler:Juno, who has all the answers?
"I think the Devil ****s Dutchmen."

The E3 trailer is up - http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3...e-force/101182
Of course as with all pre-rendered CG, it doesn't tell you squat about the actual game. Maybe if you could wreak that much havoc it would be worthy of the "unleashed" title, but it seems highly unlikely.

There's a small gameplay vid from IGN posted in the TFU board..its not HD or anything but it is gameplay.

I would imagine they're saving demoing the new force powers and what not for E3 this week.

This new trailer looks great, but as mentioned before by DarthParametric, it does not tell us squat about the game. So I think it is a real disapointment.

Some new info has been revealed at Comic Con. Perhaps the most notable thing is news of a familiar face showing up:
(the dialogue is strangely muted for some reason - you'll need to crank the volume)
There's also this dev interview:
Nothing really new there though.
And finally, an article over at the official SW site - http://starwars.com/games/videogames...con/index.html

I'm sorry, but this whole game is looking like a canon mess. Is TFU still considered canon. It looks cool, but I'm not sure I can believe it is canon in the EU.

I don't stress over canon...I enjoyed playing the first game and will gladly pick up this upcoming second installment. Besides...the EU is a gigantic cluster anyway...and I can't stand 80% of it.

There have been weirder things than an overpowered Jedi. But I personally don't like Starkiller's involvement in the Star Wars saga. But it's still not worse than some of the things I've heard about the Clone Wars series.
Anywho, it's a game, the one thing that really matters is if it's fun to play. Everything else is secondary.

So most people probably know that FU2 exec director Haden Blackman resigned from Lucasarts a month ago. The reason has seemingly become apparent as it has been revealed that the new studio head has wielded the axe, canning FU3 and sacking about 30% of the studio's staff.

I made my pre-order yesterday (regular edition), for better or worse. I'm hoping that it won't prove to be a bad decision (on the whole, I liked TFU).

I think I'll be keeping my money this time around until I read some reviews here - I'm getting fed up of paying £35 for 8 hours of gameplay! That and nothing relating to TFU has grabbed my attention for this installment. Or the USE for that matter.

I just wanted to quote this, and say Stoffe called it correctly a long time ago.

I definitely plan on playing TFUII when it is a very cheap price. I payed $60 for the first TFU and beat it when I got home in under just a few hours. I doubt TFUII is worth the full price, no offense to the game intended.

The Force Unleashed I was awful, (and probably the worst Star Wars game I've ever played) so I'm not expecting much from this installment.
The game-play aspect of the original Force Unleashed was a reminiscence of the Episode III game adaption. You're basically walking in a liner set of paths within levels, doing absolutely nothing but killing stormtroopers, force pushing everybody off of a cliff, and electrifying everybody with force lightning. It may be exciting, to utilize the ultimate force powers on the first, or second level, but it got repetitive by the time I reached level 4.
The sequel looks, and feels exactly the same judging from the game-play previews. The only difference this time around is that you get 2 light-sabers, and a bunch of puzzle solving within some levels. Hardly an improvement IMO.

That's essentially what action-adventure games consist of. The point is that TFU was no fun at all in gameplay aspect. And judging for LA's usual responses to fan feedback, I'd say we'll get more of the same as you said, not a much needed reformulation.

You are lucky indeed
Star Wars games can be much worst than that...
As you said TFU was a shallow, repetitive button masher, with QTE (irk), no gameplay depth at all, it was the son of the episode 3 game, i too find no reason to be excited...
Maybe, someday we will see an Arkham Asylum like Star Wars game.

Yeah, I've finally gotten around to playing it. I'm only a few levels in, but I find it enjoyable. It isn't JK series level of depth, but it is a fun action/adventure game, and playing with the environment is cool, and the fighting animations are great. Perhaps it was over hyped, but I think it is a good time so far.
Same goes for the RotS game. It has the issues of many a movie tie-in, but the duel mode is good for a quick run every now and then and overall it is fun to slice through lots of droids and troopers.
I guess I can still find enjoyment in these sorts of games, and still want to return to the level of the older series. I think too many people nowadays take an all or nothing approach to these games now. If it isn't the greatest game ever then it is the worst thing ever to happen to SW.
Or maybe I'm just mellowing in my old age...

TFU would have been a lot more fun if it was actually unleashed like it said on the box. The major gripe I had with it was the constant barrage of enemies that were immune to all your force powers in the mid- to end-game. Well that and the ropey controls and god-awful QTEs.

Yeah, I had those complaints with the PS2 version, but I didn't have those problems with the PS3 version. The one thing I really hated was that the end bosses seemed to be immune to absolutely everything.
Chapter 12 of A Soul Adrift is out.
Short stories:
T'katlu: On the planet Felucia, a young apprentice of the Dark Side thinks back to the beginning of her training as she lies in wait for her prey...
All the Time: After four years in the Unknown Regions, the Exile returns to the known galaxy to visit an old enemy.
Broken: A master of the Dark Side finds himself about to lose the one thing he cares about--and he will do anything to stop her from endangering herself.
