Heh... heh... heh....

Bit silly. I am a wide awake drunk bouncing off the walls. Got back from doing my officiating and drinking 2 *free* 16 oz beers as i watched the last few ends of the 2010 Club Nationals playdowns. The LaBatt girls were there. Wasn't too impressed. Peroxide blonds wearing dark colored T-shirts that were the correct size and Push-up bras (possibly padded or stuffed) wearing vacant smiles on their faces.

Have to be at work at 630 am and it is already past midnight. And you know what happens when you feed me after midnight. Then I have a curling game at 7;30 pm in Centerville WI. Wont get done with that tile 10pm. At least I get to sleep in Saturday as long as my Girlfriend doesn't wake me up cause she is all frisky

Another suck day at work.

Another giant, high-profile show.

Another night of multiple bands... the smallest of which was 14 people.

And here's ALL the information about the show that I had in advance:

Incredibly detailed and complete... no?

Made for a great day...

That's the problem... people that do work are always given more to do by the people that don't.

I don't know why I was given the task of updating our department's webpage either... but now I'm getting kinda frantic emails about making some changes to it... even though I have been working all these crazy concerts all week and haven't had time to think.

Maybe they'll find someone else to do it now, since I haven't had time...

Long day yesterday, but a lot of fun to. Won first game at centerville, I played a good game and didn't miss a single takeout, and didn't throw any draws through the house, tho a few were short.

US__ 0 0 3 0 2 0 2 x
THEM 1 1 0 0 0 1 0 x

the 5th end was big. We had 2 on the t-line and our opponent had to just hit one and roll inside. Good chance we might score one if he missed, but he would have only scored one if he made it. He missed and allowed us to be up 3 and control the game

One of my teammates brought a bottle of Jamesons 12yr Irish Whiskey for after game. We got quite lit up and had a good time. But I went home safely and was nicely woken up by my girl in the morning for some cuddle time. Another game at 1:45pm

Car won't start today. Grrr...

NOT bringing it back to the dealers again, though. I'm not accusing them of sabotage... but the timing seems just too perfect to be coincidence.

There's a VW specialist across town. If AAA can't get it started, I'm having it towed there.

That idea of a new car seems better and better every day.

Mmmmm... Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X MR...

It just jump started. Letting it run for a half hour... then I might go get a new battery (it's still the original 10 yr old one as far as I know...)

That surprised me... since all the electronics were still working when I tried it earlier.

Hmm...

My schedule for the day is now completely shot. I was supposed to get a haircut, do some shopping (need a new electric tea kettle...), pick up a belated birthday dinner for mom from Outback, and meet a friend (a lady friend, actually...) of mine from work for burgers at Five Guys.

Now that's all fallen by the wayside. Poo...

Bad day for autos... something in the stars?

It's been starting all right since the jump. I never got back out to replace the battery.

I guess I should probably get some jumper cables... I had some, but loaned them out a while back, never to see them again. Never picked up replacements... which I only recalled in this situation.

Gonna drive it over to the VW specialist to have it looked at next week, anyway. I'm working long hours every day, so it's not like I'm going to miss it much.

It sucks that half of my weekend was botched by this. Hopefully the other half is salvageable...

1/3 done with the moving crap. i'm sore. should've stretched and warmed up prior to moving tons of boxes and furniture. oh well.

my parents are mad at me cause im not calling off tomorrow to help move....i would if i wouldn't mind calling off if i could get it approved, but it 100% won't be an approved absence since there's only 1 other person scheduled in the lab, and i don't feel like dealing with another 'coaching for improvement' which will just piss me off and i might let a few words slip during the process, which could get me fired. i feel a LITTLE guilty though, since it's the easy way out of not having to deal with moving a bunch more crap. (namely the washer, dryer, stove, beds, couch, and computer table/desks)..

had to tell my one friend no to going out drinking tonight, he even offered to pay for gas and everything. i need a serious break from drinking, can't wait to be moved in to my new place and be right next to the gym. hopefully my neighbors aren't communists.

oh yeah and i almost died in my sleep this morning! yay for chest congestion..."woke up" lying on my back, couldnt move or breathe, one eyelid opened up, took me like 2 minutes to will myself to breathe before dying trying to get oxygen. it's fun trying to throw myself off the bed when i am completely immobilized, had to concentrate on forcing the rest of the air out of my lungs, felt myself slip away then come back. amazing, really. sleep paralysis never gets old!

Yesterday, while bowling with my brother, I took a 270 possibility into the 10th frame of my last game, but could only fill the 10th w/ 10 (spare, then a gutter ball on the fill) for a 238. OUCH!

Car failed to start again this morning.

Had to borrow mom's for the day. Kinda sucked. I'll need to get another jump, then crawl over to the shop and drop it off... for an indeterminate amount of time.

Spent part of the day with M.... but she was busy most of the time with her production,.. so I was bored. And as soon as she finished with that... she fell asleep.

So I just drove her home... in mom's car.

Not exactly the greatest weekend ever...

i am almost all moved in. right now im in the "old" home. the new one is more comfy, imo. should be fun bringing friends over...easier anyway since it's not 'out of the way'.

Yep. It has been a birthday tradition for me since I was...3, I think. My mom cooks up a huge pot of escargot in a thick garlic sauce, and we eat it as a meal. It's my favorite food. It all goes back to when I was two years old and my parents were eating escargot in a fancy restaurant with me, and apparently I really wanted to try some and was hooked on them immediately!

Ed, if your battery is 10 years old it is Definitively due for replacement. When the dash works before you turn the key, and everything goes out when you try starting it that is a sign of a battery not holding a good charge. WE learn quickly in Wisconsin to check our batteries after 5 years. I had my car sit out in -10 weather for 3 days and still started like a champ with a good battery in it.

Temporary fix is to get a 2/6/10+ amp car battery charger and set it to 2amp (trickle) charge overnight. (good ones go for $40-50) Only get one that connects directly to the Battery... trust me.

14 piano players tonight. Easy, but long show.

The departmental webpage I'm in charge of (for some unbeknownst reason I haven't fathomed yet...) had a bit of a meltdown this morning... while I was dealing with car crap.

I came back to my computer to see a flood of increasingly frantic emails.

Fortunately, it got solved by someone in IT.

It's been a good day.

weekend update

after the long weekend i didn't get a whole lot of sleep Sunday night. Was practically falling asleep at work. came home and crawled into bed with my kitty for a few hours.

My lady gave me a book to read to help in our relationship: Gary Chapman's "The 5 love languages - men's edition". Rather good read on relationships and strengthening said relationships after the initial passion wears off.

In case you guys haven't figured out we are now in the "intimacy" stage of our relationship

Dude...she's giving you books to read about your relationship? You should tell her that the only book your relationship needs is a cookbook, so she can cook you new and fascinating meals.

(Again. *sigh*)

(I was just trying to see who would react.)

And as far as the "intimacy stage"... yeah... trust me: we've all figured that one out. (Though I've been calling it the "too much info" stage. )

While trying to pay for my new tire this morning, my card would not work. Fraud was suspected. That happens sometimes, I just have to confirm some charges. But this actually WAS fraud. Now I have to get a new card and all that crap. Fantastic.

Another big, crazy, almost-trainwreck of a show. Survived it.

Oh the things I do for... well,.. money, actually.

New battery in car. The mechanic fixed a couple of other things that the dealership never got to.

Cost about a tenth of my last dealership bill.

Yeah... I'll probably go back to him.

I found this book to be rather interesting. I discovered my mother is someone who feel loves via acts of service, and so is my girl. Also that i am one that needs physical touch and words of affirmation to feel loved. Quite amazing how a small detail could have been missed that would cost the relationship

Anyway...

I've been playing some Serious Sam HD from the X-Box Live Arcade. Dang I love this game. Just go in and shoot up a bunch of monsters in big, open, colorful levels. The HD update doesn't make a huge difference, but everything looks sharper and the game is as fun as ever.

Anyone else have this one and feel like playing some co-op?

I don't have it... but I could get it. What does it cost?

But it's the same problem I always have: I'm rarely home before midnight anymore. Most of my XBox time is in the mornings, before I head off to work...

I've just been plugging away at Forza 3 in my free time. I want to get all the achievement points, and the gold in EVERY race.

That's a big task...

It's 1200 Microsoft Points, and well worth it, for single or multiplayer. I'd love to take a few hours one night and just sit down and blow through it with a few friends. The fun factor is ridiculous.

I have it for PC.

Played the OG games a TON

one of the best coop experiences ever.

KK: its kinda funny, I agree with R15, you are the woman in the relationship

or should I say, more tactfully, you need the type of support generally required by females, whereas males are usually the act of sevice type of people.
