Had to delete and reinstall network card drivers, firewalls, browsers, anti-virus programs... and physically power-cycle reset modem and switch...

One of those things (or a combination of several...) seems to have done it.

My guess is that the network drivers were corrupt in this PC... and the modem needed a reboot.

Anime convention in town.

Gonna go and creepily ogle a bunch of scantily-clad teenage (and some much older...) cosplayers while having lunch.

I decided to get a new $20 game and chose Fallout 3. it's pretty sweet.

Going out with my parents, sister, and brother-in-law for supper. should be a good time.

My lungs nearly froze this morning at the track. hopefully tomorrow is better. need to get past a mile. (ran a 8:40 mile then stopped cause i got brain freeze) right now it's nice out but there is school crap going on.

This winter and the treadmill really screwed me over.

After a 6 nights in a row of giant shows and long days, I think my head is gonna explode.

So: at least tonight they have given me something very easy and relaxing... 14 different bands.
With 3 drumsets, orchestral percussion, latin percussion, marimba and vibes, 2 guitars, 2 basses, 6 horns, piano and synth on stage at all times.

I'm starting to think I'm losing the will to live...

If you care to see what I've actually done this week... our efforts at work are now streaming on the web, apparently:

Here, here, and here.

You might actually see me making stage changes in the first video (I wasn't doing audio that night, but the other 2 are my sound...) and there's an audio problem with one of the streams, apparently... but it's only the first couple of minutes. Fast forward to later in the show and it should work...

Walked for over 3 hours at the beach today.

Man... I'm out of practice. My legs and feet are pretty sore... and that distance should have been much quicker.

Oh well... looks like I just have to start all over again.

And I got a pretty decent sunburn on my neck and arms too...

work was boring. got home and watched the movie hitman with my dad. i thought it was a pretty good movie, being based on a video game.

not working tomorrow, no solid plans for easter, so i might pick up a friend and drive over to lake scranton to go running. I'll probably play Fallout 3 a bit as well.

Happy Easter, all!

I was up to play the organ for the 6:30 AM Mass, and will have to play at 12:30 again. The 6:30 went well, and now I am just listening to some Bach and thinking about playing some Perfect Dark before the 12:30. Breakfast with the family a little later, too.

Spent the day with the fam.

Not much to report there. A lot of food. Loads of sugar-stimulated hyperactive children running amok. An Easter-Egg hunt that's only slightly less competitive than a full on death-match...

Standard business.

ended up staying home yesterday..playing fallout 3.

this morning i went on my 2 mile run. i didn't do too great, but i'm sure my time will get better as i am going out there every morning. today my time was 17 minutes and 56 seconds. it sucks, but it's better than what i did on the pt test. (all of them that i ever took, in fact) i'm hoping that in 2-3 weeks i'll be down to a 16 minute 2 mile.

now i'm gonna go get some breakfast and get ready for work at 8.

I bowled with the sole purpose of practicing for the first time in months today. I felt I was having issues with my swing tempo, so that was what I was working on. It seemed to be productive, as I had a nice, clean 243 game to finish out the session. Now we'll see if this carries over to league Wednesday night.

while at work I came up with an idea for a 3D board game and how it was going to work. game is basically rugby in zero-G . I just need to find a way to quickly and easily figure out collisions withoout relying on computers

my ex and i are trying to be friends again, so we played loud music for most of the afternoon and smoked drugs the rest of the afternoon/evening. found out that will dissolve awkwardness and get her to pull her jeans down while she's on her front porch. fun fun fun

my running time today was 2 seconds slower than yesterday. thinking of doing the every other day thing, give my feet and legs some recovery time. -_- it was a nice run this morning though, great view of the stars, seeing the sky light up from the thunderstorms in the distance. think on thursday i'll run twice...the 2 miles on the track then in the afternoon run out by the river.

work so far today has been annoying. i remembered why i hate the morning shift, the ****ing zombies and fat broads i have to deal with. -_-

just been in a bad mood all day. hoping the tv is free when i get home from work so i can take my anger out on fallout 3.

And I am back. Phoenix is awesome. 85* just about the whole time. Got up at 8, walked the neighborhood. did nothing most days but sit by the pool. Went to a Mariners spring training game with my son. Just basicly relaxed the whole time. The weather is just incredible. By 9 in the morning it's 70 and there is nothing but blue sky. Now we have had almost nothing but rain and temps in the low 50s. How depressing...
Got some cool stuff for my birthday.. New Star Wars lego. A Darth Maul coat that zips up over your head and had Mauls face on it. Like a mask.. Then a hood that goes over the top. Very cool, no idea where I could wear it though...

Ok ,I need a new PC, throw out some parts and #'s I should look at. I like Asus and Intel... I am so far out of the game on mobos and chips...

Same here.

I'll share notes as I do research.

I did find this chart which should help pick out the best CPU and GPU:

skip ASUS

they make elentybillion mobo models now and are too hard to track

DFI Lanparty is the shiz. Gigabyte and MSI make great boards now too, and dont make 38 submodels so its easy to find one [h]ardforum, silentpcreview, toms, or AT has actually reviewed.

core i5 750 I think is the way to go, the i7 stuff still costs waaaaaaaaaay too much

So what is core i5 750 mean. Is that a dual core, quad core. or the chipset?

Well Asus is what I have always used so if there is something better help a buddy out.

Might want to ask the engineers at intel what the numbers mean. and why 750 is slower then then 650

http://www.intel.com/consumer/produc...rei5-specs.htm

Oh and.. i think I am starting my mid-life crisis. I got a picture back that i took with my giirl and I have a noticable gut. Which I don't like. Time to get rid of it this summer
