Developer Bungie and publisher Activision Blizzard have announced a 10 year publishing partnership today. Bungie retains it's IP and Activision has exclusive publshing rights for games developed during that time.
Wasn't... Microsoft their publisher? Huh, I was sort of under the idea that Microsoft was both a creator and a publisher of their products. Odd that they would have a contract with Activision.
Bungie was a Microsoft partner. They split from ol' Bill Gates and friends 3 years ago and have been independent since. I find it amazing that anyone would want to do business with Activision right now given they have multiple lawsuits pending against them from current and former Infinity Ward employees.

Ah, that makes sense then. Forgot they split from Microsoft like a week after Halo 3.
That said, I'd rather be working under Microsoft than Activision right now. Its amazing how quickly they went from heroes against EA to something far worse.
Wow 10 years. You'd think that would be at least 3 games following usual dev cycles. That's a long time to sign up for right off the bat.
The problem that IW had was that Activision owned them. I would think Bungie has no plans to follow down that path.
