Digital camera?

Hi,

I'm after a digital camera. Doesn't have to be too special beyond a) a high resolution (12MP minimum) and b) reliable and likely to last a while. I'm looking into The Olympus Stylus Tough 8010 - do you guys think it'd be appropriate? Any suggestions of an alternative?

Dear Mr Goblin, Welcome to LFN. I am not sure if you are an actual person or bot but it is quite unusual to enter a community forum with a link to a purchase site in your first post.

To allow open discussion on the topic, I have changed the link to a review of the camera you highlighted.

The camera you have highlighted is a decent one, but anyone mildly serious about photography will go for a SLR. It depends what your budget is I guess.

I use my 5MP phonecam so it shows how keen I am on photography

I am certainly a real person thanks for the input. I have a budget of $200-300 so can't really afford an SLR, alas.
