JK2 randomly freezing?
So first off, Hello. <-- This is my first post, and second off. I've got this really irritating issue, that I cannot figure out =[. Whenever I start up JK2 and join a Multiplayer server, (haven't tested on SP yet) I can run around and attack stuff for awhile, but at certain points, (still haven't figured out when specifically, although it appears to be random.) almost always when I kill someone, the game freezes, and sound loops, and I have to restart. This just randomly started happening one day, no changes were made the night before.
Side Note: I also haven't tried reinstall, but my disc gets a cylinder redundancy check error, so that isn't really an option at the moment.

i'm not an expert, but i do know a cylinder redundancy check error isn't a good thing and quite possibly what's causing your problem
Shhh, my common sense is tingling.

the cyclic redundacy error means your disc is scratched so much the error correction data can't reconstruct the actual data from the disc. you could try contacting LucasArts for a replacement for a nominal fee, or you could try polishing the disc with a machine or at a place that polishes CDs.
as to the freezing issue, what OS are you running, what computer hardware do you have? are all your drivers up to date?

I know what's wrong with the disk. I was just mentioning that so no one would suggest a reinstall. Windows 7 64bit, 8GB DDR3 Ram, AMD Phenom(TM) II X4 945 Processor 3.00 GHz, and a ATI Radeon HD 5450 with 512mb DDR3 dedicated ram. As far as I can tell the necessary drivers are up to date, but like I said, this just randomly started happening. I don't believe there was even a PC update.

hrm, are you using the newest catalyst drivers? cause they can cause some instability in q3-based games.
you could try this thread - http://lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=204478
it's my only guess atm as I don't have 7, so I've never experienced any prob like it.

Yes, I do. And I tried the fix in that forum. I'm almost positive I installed it correctly. (moved it to Gamedata, made the .bat, and expanded the DLL. <--verified, I found the .dll) I started up JK2, and it was working normal for a while. I was fighting 2 or so people, getting hit with force pulls, pushes, kicks and saber throws. Then someone hit me with a saber throw, the game instantly froze up, and the sound the stormtrooper model makes when it gets hit looped repeatedly, like a broken record. Ctrl-Alt-Deleted, and had to force close it. It has happened when I kick someone, when someone hits me with a saber swing, when someone force pulls me. I don't understand what's going on.. =/
