Batman 3: The Dark Knight Rises

http://www.cbc.ca/arts/film/story/20...socialcomments

Christopher Nolan has announced that the new film in his Batman franchise will be titled "The Dark Knight Rises" and released on July 20, 2012.

2012!? Damn, that's a huge wait.

I like the title. Acutally, RC scared me for a moment by implying that "Batman 3" will be in the title. : /

I wish the fake title "Gotham City" was the real title for this...

They should of gone with "The Caped Crusader" as the final title, or failing that I'd of preferred; "Batman Rises" over the title Nolan has gone for.

Considering how The Dark Knight ended, this title is perfect. Personally, I have 100% faith in Nolan - if he's chosen that title, it's for a good reason.

Judging by the title, is catwoman the villain?

Indeed! Although I was hoping for "The Caped Crusader" as the title.

Terrible title in my opinion, and I was hopping for Tennant to appear in Batman 3.

Ah well, knowing Nolan, it's probably for the best. Still looking forward to it, regardless of what villain shows up. I just hope they don't add Catwoman to the final story draft.

I read somewhere that Nolan stated that the title might get changed so I'm not too worried about that. And anyway, if the movie kicks ass as strongly as TDK then I probably wouldn't care too much about what it's called.

Sorry for the bump, but new news out yesterday: Bane is the villain in TDKR, and I think Catwoman is kind of the anti-hero, I don't know. Tom Hardy to play Bane and Anne Hathaway is playing Catwoman.

Source: http://insidemovies.ew.com/2011/01/1...-knight-rises/

I think this is awesome! Bane was one of the few to damage Batman badly enough to take him out of commission for a while and one of his very few intellectual rivals. And many people probably know this but Bane broke Batman's back in the Knightfall series of comics.

in b4 I am the only one who doesn't mind Anne Hathaway

I'm not sure how much screentime it will take for her to erase my memories of Halle Berry though.

The Clone and the Princess Vs. Batman.

I'm going with Batman on this one... Though, Ann Hathaway is gorgeous, so I'm not really unhappy about this. Not at all.

Anne Hathaway isn't exactly the first person to spring to mind when it comes to playing Catwoman, which is probably why it'll work.

Yeah, Mr. Ledger wasn't my first choice for the Joker either, especially after seeing A Knight's Tale. Thought he was a bit of a 'good-looker' like all the others. He blew me away in the Dark Knight though. The pencil scene was...incredible.

Thanks for this news RC!

Who's going to complain about Anne Hathaway in a catsuit? Honestly.

Can't deny, though, both these villains have a great deal of ground to make up for, thanks to previous movies that have used the characters. The Halle Berry movie was terrible, and the Film That Shall Not Be Named was even worse. Made Bane look like a zombie-form Ahnult. I've been looking forward to this movie for quite a while, despite my traditional apathy towards Batman (thank you very much Mr. Burton); now that we may actually see a decent portrayal of Bane, I'm even more excited.

People doubted Ledger. People doubt Hathaway. Nolan knows what he's doing.

And I'm pretty ****ing psyched for Tom Hardy. Eames was the best thing about Inception.

Anne Hathaway has my approval, only needed to watch about half a minute or so of her performance in Havoc to be convinced.

Because Chritopher Nolan knows how to make a good movie!

I like the title myself. Not too thrilled about Anne Hathaway playing Selina Kyle or that Bane is in it.

Should have used my idea for Mr. Freeze, some guy who uses liquid nitrogen as his weapon of choice and designs a suit that protects him from it.

I'm still probably going to like the movie no matter what though.

Not too excited either for having Hathaway as Catwoman but still. I'm eagerly waiting for this third movie and hoping it is as good as the last.
