Now if they could tweak both Ashley and Carth Jr’s personality that is another story.
Well, you know, when you're going to go outside the wire and shoot some dudes, putting on your makeup just right is really important prep work. Also, stick thin, zero muscle, model types are well equipped for running around in heavy armor carrying heavy gear.

Given her annoying personality, one of the few things I liked about the character was that she actually seemed like a fairly believable combat arms soldier (I just tell myself that technology solved some of the many problems with women being in combat arms roles), not like some woman who spent hours getting her hair and makeup just right (yeah she had some I think, but not much), and got handed a gun. That put her ahead of just about 98% of fictional female soldiers. Most believable female infantry I've ever seen was probably Vasquez from Aliens though; from what I remember, she actually looked pretty strong.

The redesign kinda detracts from that. Keeping her armor/outfit unzipped that low makes total sense though, at least while fighting Cerberus or other human allies. (Ash+Miranda human supremacist photoshoot on page 9!)

We don't know if that's her armor or Normandy look...

As long as she doesn't complain that someone broke her nails in the middle of combat i like the fact that her looks improved.

Female Shepard does not have time for makeup. What do you think; she is applying more eyeliner as she hides from the mercenary shooting rockets at her? Where was she during that missing time after Sovereign and Saren’s defeat in Mass Effect; fixing her face?

No, Shepard secret is what millions of women around the world have discovered a permanent cosmetic makeup secret, makeup tattoo. No running or smearing. Shepard can send Kaidan to his death hundreds of times without worrying about her eyeliner smearing or smuggling.

If I hadn't just read that she'll be voicing the female version of the Republic Trooper in The Old Republic, I'd dispute that, but BioWare have prevented that.

As for Ashley's new appearance, I don't like it, or hate it. But I imagine it must be a pain having to put her hair up when she needs to wear a helmet, if any humans bother with such silly things any more.

What's the silly thing here? Helmets or hair? And Miranda had no trouble with her immovable hair

Anyway, all this "in universe realism" talk went out of the window the minute Jack appeared on screen.

Helmets... Shepard (and Garrus and Grunt, admittedly) seemed to be the only one who wore one through ME2 when faced with a vacuum... nearly everyone else gets away with wearing masks.

Yeah, but Grunt didn't wear full armor - parts of his arms were exposed - so he goes under "those who got away with it" category too.

Erm, Ahsley's new look... well, very similar to Miranda from what I could see. I won't mind it if she wears proper armor in combat/off-Normandy and the jumpsuit on the Normandy, but otherwise, meh. Having said that, I have lowered my expectations from ME3 to a bare minimum - I expect certain dialogues to make me laugh (Bioware never fails at that), but otherwise I'm not holding my breath for anything, well, breathtaking. At most it will be a nice distraction for a couple of days.

At least the important Asari Eyebrow question has now been answered.

LOL, especially at the "answer".

I suppose it makes sense to ask that kind of question, something that isn't especially important but just bothers you. After all, if you ask about anything that has importance to the plot, you're probably going to get some variation of 'I can't talk about that yet'.

If you play LotSB after finishing the mission you can view the information on different NPC from around the ME universe. One of the videos, I thought, made it pretty clear who Liara's father is. Either that or Liara has a stalker. Pretty sad, I have discussed Liara’s father with someone on the forum (their name is withheld to protect their integrity).

When I play it eventually, I'll make a point of going through the SB archives. Have seen a few of the selections via YT, just don't recall "Liara's daddy" being one of the ones I saw. Also, the helmets on the new cerberus armor sort of remind me of a geth's head.

Nice armor! Looks cool!!!
It's like a cross beetwen his normal armor and the (what's it called?) changed looks dlc.

Everyone is getting at least a small makeover it seems...

Well, except for Liara, her pics look like the Shadow Broker ones so far.

A year ago.. I'd claim "blasphemy!" But Mr. Watts brings up a pretty good point. With so much expectation out there nowadays (including my own) I'd bet you're right Primogen.

I actually think I'd be alright with this. Granted I'd probably be just as excited if they did show Tali's face.. but I don't think it's a matter of 'closure' anymore (for me at least.. hehe).

ME2 did a good enough job as far as that point whereas my Shepard at least was able to romance her, and he 'saw' her face.. hehe. Storywise, that milestone has been taken care of.

My gripe would be her absence or lack of serious involvement in ME3's story. That would make my blood boil more than anything.. hehehe. Still kinda sore they took my favorite Krogan out of the mix and it seems that's the route they'll do with Mordin too. Would rather Tali not suffer the same cameo fate I wouldn't put it past them though...

Why does Tali’s looks even matter? She has been one of two original party members to be loyal enough to Shepard to follow him/her to hell and back not once but twice. She has a wonderful personality, decent in a fight against synthetic being and she carries and knows how to use a shotgun.

Plus this is a video game, Tali may not have super model looks, she is going to look decent enough.

Shepard smiles when he sees Tali's face.

Shep is my modern Captain Kirk, he gets to work his magic on the universe's hotness... He wouldn't smile at an ugly face.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Just finished second playthrough, which included all the DLC, only Arrival post-SM. Need to replay that, as I somehow blew it on two of the trophies... need to read around and see what and how I botched it. A Vanguard Shepard was not the best character for a solo run though, I am guessing... a fair amount of difficulty in a few spots.

Now I am stuck with the wait for ME3.... maybe I will finally install and play the first DA. (yeah, bought it when it came out, started a game, was instantly lost and bored, uninstalled)

I'm leaning more towards the looks depicted in Tali fanart lexx has dug up, only without the cybernetic implants.

I hope in ME3 they go all ME2/Garrus on Tali's face and blast/scar it to **** with an explosion or something, spilled coffee maybe.

Yeah, I'm gonna guess they are bracing themselves for a lot of bitching no matter how she looks in the end. Watts didn't seem too hopeful on that point.

I actually think I'd be alright with this. Granted I'd probably be just as excited if they did show Tali's face.. but I don't think it's a matter of 'closure' anymore (for me at least.. hehe).
More a point of curiosity now than anything else.

ME2 did a good enough job as far as that point whereas my Shepard at least was able to romance her, and he 'saw' her face.. hehe. Storywise, that milestone has been taken care of.
Meaning Shep either has curiously "exotic" tastes or Tali will look reasonably attractive whatever her final appearance.

Seems kind of silly, in a way, b/c she's "on loan" to Shep to complete his mission vs the Reapers and it ain't done yet. If they're going to put Ash or Kaiden back in your squad, no reason to exclude Tali. At least Garrus is locked in (if he survived ME2).

@QGG--lets hope so. I'd rather they didn't show her than make her look too bizarre.

@mim--Tali's looks only matter in that way so far as a possible romantic entanglement is in play. Lots of less than stellar looking people out there that make good friends, doesn't mean you're looking to become romantically involved with them. As to her final "look", I'm gaurdedly optomistic they won't make her look too odd, if only to keep from upsetting so many people about one of the franchise's most popular squad members. As you indicate, she doesn't have to look "super-hot" or anything, just reasonably good looking.

@leXX--took a look at some of the Tali fan art after checking that last link. Some ok, some.....less than appealing.
