Hm. So when your boss goes, are you going to get a crack at that job?

Maybe. I'm not sure I'd want it, though. A lot of meetings, phone calls, reports... busy work... and dealing with collegiate bureaucracy.

I have the job he had before he moved up the food chain. That's the job I wanted.

I wouldn't mind less whacky hours and more money... but I'm really not a 9-5, suit-and-tie kinda guy, though.

I might change my mind in a couple of years, however. We'll see how it goes...

I'm pretty sure I didn't get a single second of sleep last night.

It's going to make for a very long weekend... since I'm working all of it.

Look forward to the next 72 hours, I do not.

Went to milwaukee this weekend to pick up my Mother-in-laws ashes. My wife is emotionally spent. She is now with my cat, and both are curled up on the sofa taking a nap.

Going to get ready this weekend for Thanksgiving dinner Wednesday. Giving both our dads show up along with my Brothers family. Of course, my brother doesn't know if he is coming since my niece is in Collage taking classes. Me thinks he could come with no problem and my niece could drive herself after class... or at least skip class for one day

11 Gospel band concert yesterday. Got home from work last night at almost 1am.

TV shoot today. Started work this morning at 6:30am.

Do the math.

But the answer = tired. And cranky.

And the day has been a bitch so far. Not a great thing to deal with when already tired & cranky.

I'm starting to wonder if the extra money is really worth it.

To explain first, my league runs an annual "Turkey Shoot" night on the week before Thanksgiving week in which a cash prize goes to the bowler in each average division who bowls the most pins over average on the night. There are three divisions for each gender, so 6 total prizes...after working the math out from the standings sheets online, I figured out that I won the men's A division prize, and my female teammate won the women's B division prize. We'll be collecting our prizes tomorrow night.

We repeat this concept around Xmas, too, BTW.

WHen curlers have a turkey shoot we place a frozen turkey on the center of the rink. Then people buy "rocks" raffle style. You then throw your curling rock towards the turkey. At the end the person who has a rock that is closest to the turkey gets the bird.

When you have a 20-25 pound turkey on the ice and throw 45 pound rocks at it. it gets quite interesting

Stayed up last night and baked an apple pie for our dinner today.

Also got plenty of booze. Rum balls, beer, brandy, hot buttered rum, egg nog, tom & jerries, scotch, whiskey, brandy, burbon, vodka

You were supposed to have had it when everyone's badges were first awarded, but someone finally got around to pulling some strings to get you the FV one.

I'm surprised I am not a forum veteran.

As of now I am completely addicted to Fallout 3. My only problem is that I am having problems finding ammo for my favorite weapons (.44)

I hear that!

Spent the weekend on the Cape with the GF's family. Was her mom's 60th. Big surprise party.

I'm totally exhausted today though. I really don't sleep well or relax in hotel rooms. Plus: being off my scheduled routine for 4 days means it's really hard to get started and back on track today.

Still: It was a pretty good time!

It's dead here...

Spent the week prepping for this show tonight. And I'm wiped out. 3 late nights in a row... tonight will be #4.

And after all that, I think the show will just be "meh."

Projected year-end post count to thread: 1,380

While not a record low for the "One Year" threads (the 2006 edition had only 787 posts), that number looks disappointing.

Well... without 15 posting, and me not as much (I actually might have TOO much life these days... which leaves me with little "goof off and be silly on the internet" time...), and most of our occasional "guests" either quiet or missing... the numbers were never going to be as great as efforts past.

But that might not be a bad thing. Next year might be the most epic ever!

Maybe...

I am losing free time. I just got volunteered to run the La Crosse Curling Club's Bonspiel. And i realized yesterday, there would be no opportunity to play the new KotOR MMO when it came out, until April. And i more then likely would be playing Diablo 3

I'd been using OpenOffice.org for my productivity apps, but it had dismayed me that the apps were lacking some features (with some, like conditional formatting in Calc, not working the way you'd expect). With the project apparently on hold, I bit the bullet and got M$ Office Home & Student, which came in the mail yesterday; I'm waiting for a free weekend day to install it.

Well, today, I officially joined the millions of people wearing one of Ben Franklin's best-known inventions: bifocals

Cracken, apparently, my sister has been wearing bifocals since she had my little nephew, who is 7 now. I just have the standard bifocals, but my sister has the progressive (no lines) lenses.

A pretty good run this morning. I find this colder weather very good for running - it's cold at first, but then it's more refreshing as the run goes on.

One of the longest days of my life so far...

7 metal bands in a row. The stage had 15 GINORMOUS guitar amps on stage... plus a HUGE bass rig, and a ton of drums and keyboards.

But this is not the metal I grew up with... oh no. The guitars all sound like amplified diesel engines grinding away on the cusp of catastrophic failure... and the vocals all sound like Cookie Monster... gargling... with Drano.

No melodies. All aggression.

Long day.

Ugh.
