@ Taak Farst: You're in a PAL region... so every time you've watched Star Wars on TV, VHS and DVD, you've been watching it at the incorrect frame rate which makes the movie play faster and the sound pitch up slightly.
You're in luck! The Blu-ray version of Star Wars will be in the CORRECT frame rate for anyone who has a HDTV. Not only that, but you'll be able to watch them on much larger screens and not have to deal with an compression issues commonly found on DVD versions of the movies, or the degradation that you get from keeping VHS over time.
Also, companies aren't charities. Obviously they want to make money, but the real scam would be if they did absolutely nothing and just simply upscaled the DVD version of Star Wars into High Definition and put it on Blu-ray. THAT would be a scam... but they're not doing that.
To outsiders, this language usually sounded like mere animalistic barks, roars, growls, and moans, conveying little more than emotion.
It's in there
To outsiders many languages can seem that way.
This is really the problem I have with your train of thought and why I've been posting in here about this. I don't like the idea that someone can see another cultures language as being so foreign/alien that it suggest a lack of intelligence, thought and complexity... don't care if it's based in reality or something made up.
you heard me.
trust me, colors will be a little brighter, and the picture may be more crisp, but there is just no point in all this..
Even a hardcore Lucas hater like myself who despises just about everything he has done since the spear-chucking teddy bears defeated an entire legion of Palpy's best troops can appreciate the awesomeness of Star Wars in 1080p.
I'm still not buying them until the unaltered original trilogy becomes available, and I will never buy the cinematic crapfest that is the prequel trilogy.

@ Q: I'm hoping that 9 disc version that they have going includes the unaltered version of the OT. But since you won't buy PT related stuff... if what I"m saying does turn out to be true, you'll have a tough decision to make

Yeah, teddy bears were steching it too thin in my book too. Now, Wookies...

George reshot most of the OT in secret for the blu-ray release. Gone are Ford, Fisher and Hamill, they have been replaced by Depp, Cyrus and Bieber. Rumors are that Williams has been replace by Will Smith. Also now neither Han nor Greedo shot at all, but Greedo drops dead of a heart attack.

Maybe, but, then again, maybe not. We'll see.

I heard differently. What I heard was that George added a new twist to the climactic "big reveal" scene in ESB:

Actually, Luke's hand falls down the Bespin shaft. It's later recovered by the Emperor's agents and taken to the Mount Tantiss facilities, where tissue from it is used six years later during the Thrawn Campaign by Joruus C'baoth to create a clone - Luuke Skywalker.

And the inconsistent saber colours on Geonosis. (But since almost nobody noticed that, I bet they won't do it...)
The only thing that I don't like is the inconsistent saber hilts & colors with Obi-Wan vs. Grievous. (Only noticeable if you pay really close attention to the fight.) Overall, I am so excited that they're finally doing a Saga Box Set.

Some Jedi on the Geonosis arena have green sabers instead of blue in some shots (I think its Ki-Adi and Plo Koon, IIRC).
Anakin's duel with Dooku in AotC also have inconsistent saber hilts and colours. It starts when Anakin grabs Obi-Wan's saber.

I can't take anything Primogen says seriously with his trollface av.
^This.
Read post without looking at who posted. Thought 'Wow someone has had their sense of humor surgically removed'. Looked left, saw Primogen's name and av, iseewhathedidthere.jpg
Luuke Skywalker is actually not a bad plot point in the entirety of what the EU has to offer. This is the same EU that spawn a dark Jedi who could use the force to control droids and then came back 30 books later to fight Jedi with like 30 lightsabers attached to his body.
Not really, i think this got a lot more to do with them being from species with very different vocal cord structure than the language itself.
And i've never said they are uninteligent, i just think it's weird that a guy like Luke, nephew of a farmer who never got off planet or done anything can understand it easily.

I, for one, approve of the Ewoks. They're a fine representation of the primitive natives doing better in their own environment than the invading white man.
Take that, Avatar.

Yet that farmboy had a little something called the Force on his side. Yoda~ "For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship." Don't go doubting on no Force.
Also, Luke might be a 'Farm Boy', but he's one: Not an idiot, and two: Has dealt with Droids for most of his life. Just because he's a farmer doesn't mean he's inexperienced with tech.
Besides, R2 isn't -that- hard to understand on a basic issue.

I thought the discussion was how could Luke understand Chewie. What does that have to with Luke knowing tech?

That only means that they can't respond to Chewie in his own language and has no bearing as to whether they have the ability on whether they can understand him or not.
Think about your logic. How can Chewie understand English/Basic so easily if his vocal chord structure doesn't allow him to speak it?

I don't really like when it becomes an explanation to each and everything, but i guess that's how it goes, "will of the force".

That means it's harder for the average person to pick up and distinguish the sounds.
And that is assuming that humans can even hear every frequency of Wookie speak.
And yes, i imagine that the average Wookie would have difficulty picking up the sounds humans make, it works both ways.
