Experiment and need opinions

So I couldn't sleep and decided why not try an audio experiment.

A lot of people go for some pretty complex drum loops and whatnot in music...or just go with a flat out basic drum loop and concentrate on the instruments and so on.

I was curious what every one thought about a very, very basic drum loop (simple snare, hi hat, and kick) that just loops, and combine the loop itself with a lot of sound manipulation to try to make it seem not so basic anymore.

Now, the loop itself doesn't give a good real impression for the experiment, so I threw in a very quick "tune" with it...but it's typically meant to be ignored.

What do you think of this drum line in the background?

Here is a reference to before manipulation:

Can you put up the manipulated drum without the tune?

Anyway, as a whole I think it works well.

Yep, I think that works well. Does what you intended and doesn't sound harsh or anything.

Yay polyrhythms.

I like it, but I think it could use some more low end. Maybe an LFO?

I guess it's okay but it all depends on what you're making. What is the sound you're after?

I'm learning my way around Famitracker--the music editor program for NES ROM images.

When I become proficient enough I plan to convert this into 8 bit:
