Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows
Trailer
Thoughts? I liked the first movie alot, so I think I'll see this one. I just finished watching Murder By Decree as well, so I guess that's adding to my excitement a bit.

I much preferred the three-part Steven Moffat series of 2010, myself. Still, this looks like a decent enough night out.

Should be interesting. At least the first one was a good pastime - although I did have my complaints about the plot.
Inspiration

Yea, the first plot wasn't very sherlock-ian, but I really enjoyed the Ritchy-DownyJr team up. Although the BBC's new Sherlock series is just as good, but for completely different reasons. Having missed the first film in theatres, I'll hopefully make it to this one. Color me cautiously excited.

I see Moriarty is in it. So would it be fair to assume Holmes "dies" in this only to be brought back for a third, half-hearted movie that's not as good as the first two?
Holmes fans will get it.

I thought we'd see a comparison to the Steven Moffat Sherlock series.
I love both of them, and I'm looking forward to Sherlock come back in August. But Sherlock Holmes is great for completely different reasons. They aren't really comparable to be honest.

Speaking of the Moffat series, it isn't broadcast across the pond here, so I can't really compare the two. Still, this movie looks worth your time.

Did not see Rachel McAdams in the trailer....
Looks at IMDb and see she is in the movie, but will play a smaller part. Okay I'll go see it.

I saw them through alternate means, but I noticed that they were on PBS a while after they came out. If your local PBS station carries Masterpiece on Sunday nights you could probably watch the Sherlock series. The local PBS stations here carry it and the Mystery shows are generally british programs like Poriot, Miss Marple, Inspector Lewis, etc.
I don't know when they will show the 2nd season of Sherlock, but I bet it will probably be a month or two after they premier in the UK. There is a schedule on their website too. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/
