Starwarsknights Chatbox

[tk102]

Starwarsknights.com has recently released an AJAX chatbox on its site for public usage. You're invited to use it anytime you like and it doesn't require anything more than your browser.

You can access the chatbox now from the starwarsknights.com home page (following the Chat link in the toolbar) or directly from here:

Is it just me, or does everyone else get 'Error accessing the server!
requestNewMessages catch: Permission denied to call method XMLHttpRequest.open' all the time?

Its been coming up since yesterday. TK said it might come, he's been working heavy on the thing. Another downside is that the font-colour no longer seems to be changing. TK says he was working on it, though...

I've never seen that error. I've gotten the 'Error accessing the server!' message a few times when tk102 has been working on improving the chatbox though. Perhaps it has to do with the security settings in your browser if you get that message all the time? Which browser are you using?

Hmm, font colors have been working again for me since yesterday afternoon.

I got that error a ton of times, though it switched to the one I mentioned.

Firefox. The problem seems universal, since I get 'Error accessing the server!

I'd check the security settings. Also make sure you type http://www.starwarsknights.com/chat.php and not http://starwarsknights.com/chat.php in the address bar.

Just reporting this:

I was chatting and decided to refresh the page because it was getting a bit laggy. Anyway, I got the following message when I tried to get back in the chat:

Error accessing the server!
handleReceivingMessages catch: readMessages throws: error: Invalid query: Got error 28 from storage engine

Its almost 2:30 AM central time, so I doubt tk was messing with it. heh

I think we may have performed our own Denial of Service attack on the server. Fortunately after a few tweaks the interview recovered. We hadn't really stress-tested the chatbox before that point. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I have been experiencing a slight problem while I am on the chatbox. I don't know if others are experiencing it.

Whenever, I am inactive (offline), and I try to post something, my reply doesn't show. So, I have to refresh the page. And every time, I refresh and try to post, I am unable to post something. And I have to constantly refresh the chatbox. (If that makes any sense)

Is there anything you can do and fix this? or would it just be my computer?

There is some bug that causes it to get stuck sometimes that you can get around by pressing the "HERE" link at the bottom of the page to kick start it again. It shouldn't happen that often though.

What browser do you use, and do you have any extensions that block javascripts in some way?
