editing weapon damage

now, i know i can edit the amount of ammo and the fire rate in the weapons.dat, but i dont see a line that would allow me to change the power of each shot. for example, if i wanted to make a particular gun an insta-kill machine and boost its power to, say, a billion zillion frillion kajillion, how would i do this?
basically, my question is: how do i edit the damage a particular weapon does? ive tried looking in the weapons.dat but there isnt a line for it listed in there. i want to make some guns more powerful but i dont know how.

If it's not listed, you can't do it.
It's hard-coded in SP's source code, which is unavailable.

A work-around would be to modify the NPC files so they have lower health.

EDIT: I see you've already looked and found the same answer <_>
It's not that we don't know how, it's that you can't

actually, that link you provided was AFTER my post.
it does seem strange though, that they would have all those other customization settings for the weapons but not something as simple as damage. thanks for the answer though.

Actually I believe you can edit .npc files to make HP like to 3 or such so it would be realistic. Also Razor are you a coder and be interested in helping with a mod?

I have too many projects on my plate to join yet another team for something I'm not passionate about.
You probably should have PMed me.

editing npc health means that all the other guns will be more powerful too. what if you only want one gun to be more powerful than all the others?
