Ok, but why is it more illegal than other forms of modding? it says on the games EULA's; no 'decompiling', no 'modifying'... so basically, any modding (and with custom, unofficial tools at that).

Hmmm... a shame. Although, it didn't look so promising; the OP didn't have the know-how and it was for an MMO (eeewww ).

Don't really answer my questions about the porting 'taboo' though.

Hehe, modding drama! guy just up and broke the basic modders etiquette (of giving credit where credit is due). Silly, unnecessary stuff.

Somewhat interesting read though, thanks for the links LordDeathRay.

(i fail to see what that whole pikmin situation Darth Snard brought up has to do with anything being discussed in this thread though)

They all look awesome but when i got down to Dukaan...Idk some thing hit me wrong with his skin color..I mean look at his chest. Its bright light green...Then go over to his head...Dark dark green. I think it needs to be at least close to the same shade. But other then that great job! looking forward to seeing more updates.

First version of Exile's robe look promising, but some of the companion textures need a little 'pimping', namely Dukaan's robe and Sila's clothing (around the giganormous cleavage).

Sorry but Dukaan and Kail look terrible as does the robe. It looks like someone painted on Kail's face with acrylic paint. And Dukaan has too much eye makeup and whatever is around his mouth looks like it was taped on (supposed to be facial hair or more markings? not sure). The markings coming down from his forehead look nice though, so maybe you might want to lean in that direction?

The new robe seems to be shaping up but needs a lot of work so I hope that isn't the final version.

Your other characters and skins look good so I know you can do better! That's all I mean. My constructive criticism would be to 1. find a better way to add facial hair and 2. maybe take some more time on your skins? You seem to be churning them out pretty quickly. IMO the best looking skins should be the party members/major characters. I wouldn't want to play through the entire mod having to look at Dukaan like that

Okay first, Kail is supposed to be a Kiffar, so his tattoos aren't quite right. He was designed really recently so that's not the final version. Also I haven't textured his armor so it looks silver.

As for Dukaan, His face was made pretty early on and I haven't gotten around to changing him. He's about 60-70 by this time, but is still combat effective. So I need to make him look tough but elderly.

I'm still working on the Exiles robes, though that's pretty close to the final version. His/her dark side robes will be modeled off the middle robe that's black and red.

I wan't to get the first half of the mod "playable" or mostly finished before I go into more detail with the Party.

I need feedback weather positive or negative If I'm going to get the mod right, so you honest opinion is asked for.

I'm glad you took my feedback as I meant it

That second guy from the right in the bottom row of the portraits looks wicked though

Also it looks like your portraits might be 64x64. Once you get around to refining stuff like that, I learned that a 128x128 portrait or even weapon icon (anything like that) will look noticeably much better in-game. I could be wrong on your sizing though; just a hint.

I am really digging the screenies, and great job with the galaxy map! Out of curiosity, how did you get the hood to work with Brianna? (And I could tell it is not a model of a Handmaiden Sister, as the hood looks different and thicker.)

What do you mean the one from RoR? You mean to photoshop or did you pull out an asset from RoR's Demo files?

All original Revenge of Revan assets for RoR are just for RoR.
No one is allowed to pull and use original assets from Revenge of the Revan mod.



Later Redrob41 might release some files for public use, but right now they are not allowed to be used in another mod.

Next we have two more characters. First though, You need to know, Dukaan, Dilara, and are no longer party members. Dukaan is a crew member (a character like a party member but they never leave your ship.) and Dilara is now a NPC you meet on Tython, although she still has a backstory, and still a romance option for the light side male players.

......Ok that area at the top of your post was AWESOME!!!! You did a very, very good reskin of nar shadda and dantooine. Almost all of your stuff looks awesome. But one thing that kinda hit me in the face was the first PC head....Hischin looks very bad its like a completely different skin color. But over all its super awesome update.

This may be the last update for a while so I won't make it long but I'll make it interesting. First I'm going to announce something I was inspired by TOR to create: Appearance Kits.

When you recruit a party member, they will have a default appearance but you will be given several different appearance Bands that you can equip on your companion to change their appearance. This is a little video showing how it works.

Nice update! I didn't know you could make it where if you equip an item it changed your appearence. Nice idea though taking that from TOR. I really like that head your pc has. Will it be a choosable head in ROM?

I'm not sure about the appearance bands, first, your npc characters will be loosing in the personality department because of it, and second, is it a magical thingy or what?, that is, it's an immersion killer... if the game worked like a party based dungeon crawler where you create your whole party at the begining it would make sense, but such as it is, it doesn't. Just my 2 cents.

The dialogue seem clear and interesting, and the charm/intimidation looks good, but if i may, i have a suggestion and a question; i'd suggest giving the pc dialogues some additional lines and also a few additional exit nodes, for instance, on the dialogue with the man in heavy armor there's several exchange of lines that doesn't have an exit out of the conversation for the player, now, for whatever reason, a player may need to stop playing at that point and not have saved the game for a couple of hours... as for the charm/intimidation i have a question; does charm = light side points, intimidation = dark side points? if so, that'd be a little too black and white, the intimidation line in the video for instance didn't seem to me to be so 'dark side point worthy', just a little 'rough'

Yes. That's one of the heads for the human-cyborg you can play as.

You get the appearance bands a soon as you get your party member, so you can equpit it on them right away, and you don't have to use it if you don't want to.

I know what you mean. The Dialogue is very rough right know. The idea of intimidating the leader doesn't seem right, but I'm working on something else. Basically the charm and persuasion techniques are advanced persuasion techniques. They will have the exact same result but give light or dark points and increase or decrease your companions influence in you.
