Porting Mod Question...

I just found out that the PMHH01 (dark yellow skin, long black hair) head uses a model smilar to that of PMHC04 from KOTOR 1. So I decided to get rid of the current look, change the hair, and sort of splice in parts of my "New PMHC04" mod. Here was the end result:

This is in early stages of development, so it may change a bit.

Would I be allowed to release this? I don't think it's porting, but I'm not sure. I wanted to ask so I don't cause trouble by trying to release an illegal mod.

Thanks,
-ZM-

I wouldn't think so because the texture PER_Kolto2 contains the textures for the head PMHC02, PMHC03, and PMHC04 from KotOR 1. Granted, they've been scaled down a bit, but you could use that and it wouldn't be porting.

The truly fallen cannot return to the light. If someone "falls" and "returns," they never really, truly fell.

Did you take material from KotOR I and put it into KotOR II? If yes, this is porting, and no, you can't release it.

I'm really not sure what's so confusing about this rule.

Just do what FG said. You could cut out the section from Per_kolto2 and rescale it to 256x256 and there you go.....you cover your bases with an easy work around.

Just exactly what is a head-piece to the Staff of Ra?

I think I'm going to go with what DI said just to be safe. Thanks for answering the question. I'll keep it for personal use. This thread may now be closed.
