Jedi Shadow, tanking
I was going to post in the juggernaut thread but since my character is a shadow, figured maybe it ought to have a separate thread.
So as I understand it tanking isn't popular and I can see why. And yet, it is my sort of play style. So I'll probably be in high demand for flashpoints and raids and whatnot.
While I've gotten some good guidelines and general numbers (after which diminishing marginal returns occur) for the role, I ask tips and anything learned of experience from others here as well. Namely the inquisitor/consular, and the SW Juggernaut/JK Guardian players.
For tanking I know memorizing/setting up hotkeys is vital to efficient play, and as a tank it's all about absorbing damage and keeping aggro off healers and others, while DPS kites and cuts down big characters from your flank. You occasionally have to bail DPS out when aggro turns on them and make sure your healer never gets touched.
Being new, I have limited understanding of why stealth and tanking are 'screwy'. Tactically I agree DPS and stealth go together better though.
"What are the pitfalls?" is my concern. The relevant 'quirks' of the gameplay.
Thanks in advance.
