Inventory items constantly rotate rapidly

Whenever I access inventory , the items rotate at warp speed making it impossible to select items on anything other than a random basis. The more items in inventory the faster the rotation. Pressing the left or right arrow keys slows the rotation somewhat but items cannot be selected when these keys are pressed. My PC is a PIII 500mhz, 128 megabytes of ram, with NVidia RIVA TNT grapics card.

Do you have a joystick/control pad connected? Maybe it needs to be re-calibrated...

Thanks for the reply. I did have a joystick connected to my computer but had disabled both analog and digital joysticks in the options screen so I couldn't see how the joystick could still be effecting the game. After reading your post, I disconnected the joystick out of frustration and the problem vanished.
