Question Ancient technology

I was listening to my favorite radio show recently, a talk show about the paranormal, and their guest mentioned in passing a 13,000 year old satellite found in Earth's orbit. Doing some investigation of my own, I found this video on youtube:

View page
YouTube Video

I'm not sure what to think about this one. Authors and whack-os of all sorts have been going on about ancient technology for years now. Eric Von Daniken's books, as quick as they are to jump to conclusions, do bring up some interesting evidence. A piece of equipment in space...well, it's far out there, so to speak, but it is one place where something like that would remain untouched by human hands for millennia.

I may post more stuff. Crazy stuff. Does Earth have a forgotten past, with advanced technology? Respond to the poll, and register your opinion.

I'm reminded of my roommate who believed the Malaysian flight was abducted by aliens. I on the other hand was certain there was a Bermuda's Triangle kind of deal going on there.

Where the heck did everyone disappear to?! We can't keep this place rocking if there's no one to rock with!!

Is it ancient technology or future technology that can also travel through time? We're through the looking glass here people

Cool Guy Heads up

...Or is it down the rabbit hole?

Artifacts found in space are of particular interest to me. Finding a watch on the bottom of the sea isn't remarkable, but finding that same watch on the moon is a different matter.

Or a robot's head, like in this photo snapped at Shorty crater by astronauts Schmitt and Cernan of Apollo 17.

Here is a close-up.

Question Moon base Alpha

Here is a building on the moon, in the Aristarchus region.

And here is a crashed space capsule of some kind. Couldn't find any photos of a WW2 bomber, I'm afraid...

Thumbs up Moon proof

No, they're actually there.

I asked my Chinese cousin, Jade Rabbit, to go and take a look for me. He said yes, the building was a gas station, and the crashed space capsule had a window where you could look in at the skeletal pilot.

Arrow Time bomb

Remember that watch at the bottom of the ocean I mentioned earlier?

Well, it is remarkable if the watch in question is an astronomical timepiece that keeps track of the position of moon and planets, and it uses miniaturized clockwork that was not supposedly invented for another 1,400 years.

This device was recovered off the Greek island of antikythera in 1900, and is dated to the first century BCE. Mechanical clocks weren't developed in Europe until the fourteenth century.

Here is a reconstruction of how it appeared:

The gears and clockworks inside:

How can this be...?

This kinda reminds me of that tv series about those guys who can't stay in a polluted Earth any more so they move to prehistoric Earth using a portal but they eventually find stuff that's not supposed to be there like an 18th century figurehead of a ship in the middle of nowhere and stuff like that, even when they have the only portal in existence.

You mean Terranova? I bought that series on DVD, but only watched the first couple of episodes...

If it gets weird later, I may have to watch the rest.

I forced my way through the whole thing. The beginning is ok, then a whole bunch of bland mediocreness, until the last two episodes which finally started making interesting use of the premises. Then it was cancelled. And I shrugged and forgot it existed. I assume your sold on it after a glowing review like that

Well, I did quit watching it. They only did the one season, so it sounds like they never get much into the ancient technology stuff.

Okay. Some serious evidence, this time from the annals of history. There are sixteenth century maps which depict details about Antarctica and Greenland which were regions supposedly unexplored at that time. They were supposed to have been copied from much older maps which showed those areas without ice cover, but the sources have been lost to us through time...

Here is a web page that discusses the matter: Down the rabbit hole.

Here is an example, showing Antarctica:

Now...here is a bad example:

This is the famous 'Piri Reis' map, that is supposed to show Antarctica. Compiled from a number of sources including Columbus, it shows the coast of South America. In my opinion, that land curving around is not Antarctica, because it matches the outline of South America. As noted in this graphic:

Sea maps. So illuminating, and so misleading.

Post Lost penguins

Dr. McCoy, how do you explain the existence of the antarctic continent on a map made in 1533 when the continent wasn't even observed until 1820? Heck, the first explorer to cross the Antarctic circle at all was James Cook in 1775.

And no, Magellan did not discover Antarctica. He and Drake both took the Straits of Magellan around South America, avoiding that frozen land altogether.

This would appear to be a logic problem you can't discount so easily, Doc.

Timecube is precious. I'm pretty sure I had to sit next to that guy on the bus...

Arrow Stoned again

Getting to what I think is the best evidence of advanced technology in the past, since I think we're losing attention...

What is written in stone

If we were to take our modern day stone masonry, making use of high speed mechanical drills and machine processes, and bury it in the desert for thousands of years...we would be able to tell that an advanced civilization had worked the stone. There are marks, in stone mind you, left over from high speed drills and cutting machinery.

And no, this stuff isn't all being found in Egypt. The video referenced was taken in Peru.

More stonework later. Dry subject, but terrific evidence.
