Lock ups in emi

Sorry if this is double posted, but I can`t seem to find my original post on the board, I only end upp steal other peoples posts..
Oh well, here it goes again.
I just bought emi and encountered these problems.
When I bring upp the game menu and try to do something there, like save, the game locks up. And the game also locks up on the act1 screen. I have tried to patch the game,re-install it, reboot the computer, re-install dirctx 7, and looked for an answer in the trobbleshooting guide, but there is nothing on about the problems. So I turned here in hope that one of you know what to do.

My problems weren't quite so severe as yours, however the game locked up (or crashed) on me at least 5 times, and I'm using the 1.1 patch. Needless to say, retracing an hour's worth of gameplay took away some of the fun. My advice, if you get it working... save early, save often.
