Blood and Gore

Is there gonna be blood and gore? It would be good ONLY if you could turn blood/gore off. A LITTLE blood is fine and an occasional limb or two (or head, yes you can make heads fly in JK/MotS) But NOTHING like slicing someones waist and their istestins fall out! (That made me sick just typing it.) So someone please tell me!

gonk:
it DOES cauterize,
the blood you see is not from the wound, rather from the appendage that has been broken off...it cauterizes the "whole" only

I don't think it should be in it. JK 2 should be rated E(everyone), and blood would automatically get rid of that. So let's hope for no blood.

Congrats, PreTZel, on your promotion!

thank you...
and btw, JK2 should be rated, at the very least, T(Teen)....only because JK was rated that way...
im sorry if you are 11 or 12 and you have strict parents who wont allow you to buy the game because you arent 13 yet, but it just needs to be that way...

I reckon there should be an option for gore though, with password protection for parents (like in Half Life). That way it can be for all ages

I'm not underage, I just feel that the people who aren't old enough to buy the game if it rated Teens but enjoy the movies should be allowed to play it, even if they do have strict parents.

Totally unselfish, believe me.

Just another tidbit to add to the whole issue of "blood and/or gore in JK2:"

Outlaws, a 1996 FPS (and a mighty cool one at that) made by LucasArts (and the team that went on to do Mysteries of the Sith) was rated "Teen" and it contained red blood (a "gore" setting you could turn on or off in the options menu, on by default I believe).

Granted it wasn't much, but you could see it blew out of the enemies when you shot them.

Heh heh, I played the demo not to long ago and I played the game with both gore and no gore and saw.....no difference!

What is Half Life rated?(Someone earlier said something about there being a gore option thingy in it.)

*Stormtrooper commander in front of his troop of stormtroopers walks up to general*

Commander: "We have succesfully defeated those two wookie armies."

*An Ewok starts throwing pebbles*

Stormtroopers: "AAAAAHHHHHGGGGG!"

I don't know about the demo, but in the full version of Outlaws, you'll notice with Gore checked, you'll see blood spurts whenever you score hits on enemies (except with fists or the knife toss).
Examples: <a href="http://www.public.iastate.edu/~kurgan/olblood1.jpg">[1]</a>
<a href="http://www.public.iastate.edu/~kurgan/olblood4.jpg">[2]</a>
<a href="http://www.public.iastate.edu/~kurgan/olblood7.jpg">[3]</a>
<a href="http://www.public.iastate.edu/~kurgan/olblood8.jpg">[4]</a>
<a href="http://www.public.iastate.edu/~kurgan/olblood6.jpg">[5]</a>

With Gore UNchecked, you won't see any blood, period. <a href="http://www.public.iastate.edu/~kurgan/olnoblud.jpg">Example</a>.

Yea, there have been a few games that where you hit them the blood comes out. But with the Ghould 2 system it will also effect them visually, and physically.

Hmmm, I don't remember any blood like that in the demo when I played it, I didn't play it much though.

I'm sure there will be no blood but I liked the arms flying off every so often. Though in Jedi Knight 2 I hope all the limbs can fall off and not just the left arm.
(I think Gabrobot said right arm because as your facing the trooper the arm on your right falls off and he just got confused).

Blood shows realism, but too much blood would just spoil the thing. Taking away the whole element of the SW universe.

OK, I'm convinced, have blood in the game, just keep it to a minimum.
And I agree it should be more realistic. I was walking around JK the other day, facing the ground, swung with my saber and some guys arm came off. Weird.
