Jk2 Scifi Mod Site and Press Release soon...
That's right... the site for the Jk2 Sci-Fi mod I've been working away at with my team for a while now is approaching it's official announcement date. The Flash Site is just over a week away so when it opens you'll be greeted with pictures of screenshots and more.... Stay tuned. Also there are still some position openings. If you are interested please let me know : shade@redfaction.net Also in case you missed the teaser shots a few weeks back, check them out at the following link : http://lazersoft.virtualave.net/jk2

I know JK2 uses the Q3 engine. But isn't it heavily modified? How can you start doing a MOD on a game that isn't out yet and you aren't certain what the engine would be like?
Other then that: I like that teaser screenshot! Looks sweet!

The Q3 engine handles certain file formats... we therefore, can map the files in Q3, then when Jk2 comes out insert our custom textures switch npc's and such set waypoints etc etc. Same goes for models. They are based on the md3 file format... so we can go ahead and do just about everything but programming. I really need a sound guy for composing some techno music for the mod... note this is not gonna be StarWars, we are simply using Jk2 because it has ICARIUS2 and GHOUL2 which are very helpful.
I am glad you like the pics.... l8r.

Makes sense.
But shouldn't this go in the Editing Forum?

Q3 engine is great for outdoor terrain, if and only if you know what you are doing.... if you don't know what you're doing then no, it's not.

Scary pic you have there.
And no, the Q3 engine does not suck when it comes to rendering out-door terrain.

Hey Kumba, you should use Nine Inch Nails for the music. They're SOOOO good!

COPYRIGHT. Plus I dislike their music. We're gonna use custom music, but thanks for the suggestion.

Some more questions...
What kind of mod are you making? Are you basing it in the SW universe or a new setting?
