Post A Question

Hey Dragonball Z people likers! I think the English version of the show stinks! The Japanese version has tons more blood and the animation is a little bit faster in my opinion! If you like Dragonball Z, then right back! If you just want to talk about dumb things then you can do that too!

Question

I heard someone muttering about Buddhist symbology involved in the Pokemon characters recently. I haven't heard ANYONE mention the stuff I see in DBZ that relates directly to Buddhist symbols--some of which are considered occult in our society.

(Education time: occult means "hidden," not "evil." )

Seriously. I'm talking about the "Awakening of hidden powers," (Kundalini), the guy with the third eye, the characters fighting with mantras, even the dudes walking around with their crown chakras (halos) opened up.

There is some major voodoo going on in that cartoon! Just for the record--I watch DBZ every night, and we let our kids watch it. I am Christian, but I also like Buddhism...(just to fend off any attacks from people I might actually agree with! )

Question

Masons??? In Popeye???

This unit is TOTALLY confused, o caped one!

However...there is a sect of mystics who approach enlightenment from the standpoint of personal perspective, called the "I am" movement. Their ideas, as I understand them anyway, are derived from Kabbalah and can be summed up with Popeye's famous saying, "I am what I am and that's all what I am."

Pete Segar philosophy. Love it!

You can say that again, BatMan & Guilo! But fear not, because BatMan will save the day once again (or will he?).

No, really, our society is doomed. Maybe we should hope that we all die on January 1st, 2000.

I'm here... so? this non-insulting discusion on how to make a Infinate Improbablility Drive out of a piece of rubber and a paper clip.

OH!! IT'S ABOUT DBZ.......... good point. Japan's society is alot losser on that ground, and they KNOW that crap won't affect there kids as long as there PARENTS teach them. which they do.
So, while there parents actually parent, US parents sometimes substitue T.V and games as a parenting device, and the child's view on reality becomes distorted and... well.... yeah, we're screwed.

.....Okay, it's time to tell the truth, Little Vader...

Exactly how long have you been off your medication?

Geez, I wouldn't mind this guy's transparent insincerity in every one of his space-wasting posts, if only he were at least somewhat intelligent about it....

Excuse me. I think I'm going to be unwell.

Does "Greep" translate into "Ribbitt"? Perhaps "nee-deep"?
I tried to teach a frog to read once. It was too hard for me, no matter what book I brought for him, he had already "read it, read-it, read it."

Hmph. At least Shootist got it...

I'm in the market for an English/Frog dictionary, if anyone spots one. But for now, "greep" is as good as "ribbit."

The world would be much simpler if liars turned into frogs, I think!

You know, that reminds me a rather sick joke which, in true Nitro-esque tradition and form, I shall share with all of you, be it to your delight or your dismay.

Uhm, Guilo, I know that you used to be an administrator here and everything, but I don't think that that is really appropriate...sorry. (I'm just remembering back to the big hullaballoo with xaomel, ChewMe, Nitro, etc. It was a post sort of similar to that which started it all...)
