In AOK you were able to put all types of terrain on one map like a desert and forest, with the inclusion of space will they be now making the map editor more like starcrafts where you decide on a single map type and you could not mix different terrain.
in space there'll be mainly space-platforms, and what kind of terrain you put on those platforms is entirely up to you..

To be completly honest. I didn't like the AoE and AoK map editor. I prefeared more the StarCraft one (even thought all those triggers were a pain to do).
I hope LEC just doesn't convert the map/campaing editor just to have StarWars units and textures. I hope they modify it a bit, make it better
I liked it. I now have the hang of triggers so I am making some Very nice scenarios. The interface was quite good on AoK. Most off it was well organized. I admit a little of it was kind of strewn about. But not enough to make me dislike the AoK editor.
Well ... I played a bit with the Star Craft editor ... but I didn't like it. You had to choose wich terain type first ... and it's hard to do eyecandy there (For AoK there are huge articles about making eyecandy)

Hmm, i just started using the AOK editor and i like it. It is certainly an improvement over the C&C editor, which was utter crap. And it was easy to do and you could do alot of stuff with it once you figured out how to do triggers.

If you go to the official site for it. They might have tips galor for making maps. But don't worry if you don't have the game just wait. When GB comes out you'll get the hang of it soon enough.
