No, the question is, do you really think LEC/Raven will upload a demo that close to the release of the full game?
Typically, there is at least 2 weeks 'clearance' either way (before or after) between demo and game.

Kenn H: We're looking at all of out options for a demo right now. It's going to depend on our production schedule and how our dev team is going to be divided up after JK2 goes gold. We're still looking at everything and we'll make a decision and go from there soon.
This very definitely suggests that the decisions about the contents of the demo and the time of its release will be taken some time after going gold.
It also suggests that creating such a demo entails a bit more than just have one guy slap a couple of levels together and dump it on an upload server ("It's going to depend on our production schedule and how our dev team is going to be divided up after JK2 goes gold.").

PLEASE no spoilers. No mention of spoilers. No discussion of spoilers. No "highlight to read" spoilers either. PLEASE.

As to the chat: why didn't anyone ask about the extent of modding? The capabilities of the ICARUS2 scripting system? Are weapons/items modifiable/addable? That's what I wanted to know more than anything else...

Well if every character that's mentioned in the SW: encyclopedia and every prequel trilogy character would already be included in the game... the modding world wouldn't have to do alot of things eh?

In response to those who are asking why other serious questions were not asked...the simple fact is that they were, but those in charge of the discussion decided not to pass them on to the development team, so they did not appear as part of the discussion. I know that I asked every question I could find in the Chat with Raven thread, and some more of my own, but they were simply ignored or overlooked. I think a few people were disgruntled by this, and so started to ask less serious questions...which were passed through to the development team.

There may also have been some parameters laid down before-hand regarding the types of questions the development team would be willing to answer...

At least we got a few more tidbits of information, and to be honest, I don't really expect anything more from these chat events. Some of the answers didn't impress me either...but at least we had some answers to chew on.

The real proof, as always, will be in the actual gameplay - and it still looks like they are on schedule for a March release.

I came in 5 minutes before the chat ended

Anyway regarding the "No we don't want pre-jk2 timeline characters in MP" crunk... I don't have much of a problem with that since I ALWAYS play as a storm trooper

And I don't think this chat wasn't helpful at all, it was certainly a nice gathering of info before JK2 comes out.

Cheers

The series in which this is explained is The Bounty Hunter Wars.

well, regardless of how they make the game and feel should and should not be in it, judging by the mod community for the original jedi knight and fanatics of that game, someone will just make a mod to do it how they want to do it.

and im sure the members of this forum will be the ones who do it.

You know Kyle also killed Boba Fett in Dark Forces 1. Boba Fett just won't die.

Look, he officially died. George Lucas and many fans don't care about EU material. If GL didn't write it, it didn't happen.
Oh, you are SO going to have problems with AOTC

And Boba backstories fit with a little thought.

The way I see it, all of the memories Fett has about being Jaster Mereel aren't in fact his own: they are his father's. I believe Jango was the one who was originally Jaster Mereel, and that before he died he had his memories implanted into young Boba's mind. That explains how Boba Fett is a boy in AotC yet remembers things from long before that. Just my $0.02.

What does EU stand for? I have a feeling it has to do with the books. What's funny, is that one of the levels is Luke's Jedi Academy on Yavin 4, which is NOT in the movies, not even hinted there, but only in the books. Yet these guys seem to act like the books mean nothing....hmmm. Or maybe the whole bobba fett dying thing was just to throw us off track.

Expanded Universe - and you're right about thinking it's to do with the books - AFAIK, the books essentially are the EU

Whoa! Boba Fett is a clone!?! I've read the Mandalorian Armor, Slave Ship, and Hard Merchandise which are about him but it never really explains in detail just who Boba Fett really is nor where he came from, or even who he was before he donned his infamous mask and became the bounty hunter known as Boba Fett. Who is he? What was he? And who is Jango Fett?

Boba Fett is a fascinating character and has always been one of my fav SW characters because of his deadly demeanor as well as his quick mind and resourcefulness. K.W. Jeter did a great portrayal of him in The Bounty Hunter Wars. Boba Fett has a mystique about him that is very...cool!

Found this over at Bluesnews. It's a copy of the full chat session, for anyone that hasn't read the "whole" thing. Enjoy.

What is real? How do you define real? If you're talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, what you can taste and see, then real is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.
