Zero Gravity or Broken????

Are you supposed to have zero gravity after you defeat Galak (I think that's the name) in the shield generator room? I can't seem to figure this out. Also, where are the escape pods or the exit?? I've been at this for hours and it's really pissing me off. Anybody have a working level skip code?

The escape pods are near the start of the level. I believe it's either through the first or second doorway in that circular room area with the pit.

I had such a hard time floating around in zero-gee. It's the second door from the left.
