THIS is the Butterfly move everyone wants to do..

hope that lays some arguments to rest...

I'll also post the other "special jumps" here later...so stay tuned. This was taken from the model viewer, it was just screenshotted and converted to an animated gif with photoshop.

LOL, I did the exact same thing in the butterfly post area. Made my own gif just like you did. Glad to see someone else is doing things the same way.

Not sure as of yet how to do these?

AND are there 2 butterfly moves? The first GIF looks like the move Maul does right before he tosses the droid at the door while fighting both Qui Gon and Obi-Wan.

The second looks like the move he pulls while fighting Obi-Wan (after Qui Gon is dead) about half way through their impressive sabre exchange, after his dual sabre is gone

it tells me that it made a file call without initialization. And when I try using the File "View JK2 bots" it asks if it should assume some weird directory is base path, but won't let me change what that is if I click no. and if I click yes it still doesn't work

This doesnt work with the view JK2 bots, since there is a file somewhere saying that the bots are on W:\ drive, which I have seen in a couple places but not sure where. I asume they were on a W: drive when they were developing the game. Just hit open and point to the models/players/whatevermodelfolder/model.glm

I've asked a few people, and a few have said they did it during SP, but have no idea how.

I'm sure there is a way to do them, otherwise the animations wouldn't still be there.. unless the devs got sloppy and didn't remove unused animations (which I doubt).

Looks awesome. Someone mod it by binding it to a key, like move to the left, jump and duck, or something.

Insert a witty and thought-provoking quote here, I can't think of any.

Waiiiiit a minute.......

We've got a double saber cheat, we've got these Darth Maul moves. Maybe Raven didn't incorporate them into the game because of balance issues, so they left the pieces in there for us to bring 'em together. Why waste such cool shiznit?

Hell, that was actually my theory.

Originally they were going to have a double saber fighting style, complete with it's own moves, so they took some of Maul's animations (by the nature of the light staff, and how it works, it has to be a bit more acrobatic and showy). but they didn't have time, so they left the stuff in there for us to play with.

Either that, or they intend to implement it later and so why take out code you're just going to put back in right?

Well...

I know for a fact that I've done at least one of them, if not both.

Problem is, I don't know HOW I did them! I know that I was in that "pit" part of the Pit level against Tavion (or the Ladder Level). I've seen myself do these strange moves and I don't know how. I've tried replicating them, but it didn't work.

I can only jump sideways off walls and run forwards up walls, backflip, and land behind the person chasing me (very useful in Ladder).

Don't doubt the witnesses, I'm sure they've seen people doing it. However, like me, the people doing the move probably did it by accident and have no idea how to replicate it! (which is a shame, 'cause it'd make Sabre fights even cooler to watch).

Not doubting at all. Just saying WITNESSESS have seen it. I personally havn't.

According to one post, the poster said this one player kept doing it over and over, so that's why he posted on the forums asking about it.

However, most people indeed....to the butterfly by accident.

because they're actually a new evil corporation bent on galactic domination. However they don't yet have that strength, so they satisfy their evil needs by teasing gamers who go through every file that comes with a game for "hidden" things.

I think I may have just seen it in single player - or part of it at any rate. I spawned about a dozen Desanns and I was just standing in the middle of them with my saber on light stance, holding fire without any directional keys when Kyle started to spread his arms as shown in the .gif files there. Unfortunately he was thrown to the other side of the level like a rag doll before he could finish whatever it was he was doing, and suddenly there were six lightsabers giving him a drastic haircut as you can see here, but I'm going to try again with fewer enemies and if I see it again I'll jab furiously at the screenshot key and post the evidence.

there's something else to keep in mind about the move and if it's doable or not

it's quite possible that the key combination approach will only work, if someone is standing in a certain position around you or doing a specific move near you.

there's two moves already that are contingent upon having and opponent in a certain position or direction before the move works.

the light stance backwards stab
and the medium stance jump and underhand swing

just a thought

the purple one

I have done the move on top, on many occasions. You need to run foward, than stop short, double top straif, than foward and jump together. Its a pain in the ass to do, and is not usefull.

I think what I saw was a false alarm - upon closer inspection it seems that you'll just spread your arms out sometimes when coming out of a saber lock.

I am getting a demo file together of 2 glitch moves I have found you can do. I believe they are glitch moves because of how the character models squashes and also that if you do it right, your attack button gets swinging on auto till you intiate a new swing techique. Basically, it is in done during a sideways force flip. Time on this is very critical. You hit your jump +side strafe(doesn't matter which onee + primary attack. This will start the very average sideways forceflip saber wiggle I am sure you have seen already. But here is the twist, do not let off your strafe key as you do this move, this will culminate in the full twisting swing we are familiar with when you land. But!!! right as you start that sideways leap and are holding your strafe key down very quickly hit your primary attack again. It will halt your flip and toss you the opposite way of your leap with a very fast side swing. I know this description is abit hard to follow, but as I said, I am working up the demo for this move to show what I am talking about. You will know you did this move right when you see yoru character just stop in mid-air real quick and swing in the opposite direction and the fact that you character model seems to get very thin for a moment while it changes direction. Almost like a hicup move with a little model squashing. lol The other is also a glitch done in almost the same manner that swings your saber up around your head and behind your back. almost like your doing a back block. Not sure if this would actually work as a block as I have yet to pull it off against a bot. I am about 25 % able to pull this move off when I am really trying. I will get the demo out soonest so someone can tell me if this is a valid move that I have stumbled across or just a a glitch as I assume. I think this last move is diffinantly a glitch do to the fact that there is a small amount of clipping during the swing behind your head.
