Multiplayer Problem

I would do a search, but seeing how it's disabled...no.
I also looked over some of the posts, but still no.

My problem:

Whenever I join a multiplayer game, I join successfully, but the game soon freezes after that...it usually freezes right when i begin to fight an enemy.

i've got a amd athlon 1.5 gig, 256 meg ram and a geforce 2 mx...

Has anyone else had this problem and do you know a solution?

It never freezed in singleplayer.

(Edit) My copy is store bought, i do not have the no cd crack or whatever it's called.

Same problem. Sometimes I am lucky enough to get a simple yellow error-window, but mostly it freezes the box.
