MOTS Skin Packets

Is the Art of the Lightsaber finished?
Does anyone know? How do you pick the character in a multiplayer game when you're in it? It says to pick person and I don't know how. I think there should be more in the packet. The skins are great, but there should be more. Not the funny ones, but good nice serious ones. Maybe some more technology like grappling hooks and other stuff. There aren't enough good patches for MOTS. The best one for Jedi Knight is the Mandalor patch with all kinds of neat technology. Exp:] grappling hook, helmet sensors, advanced helmet sensors, jetpack.] There should be added force powers that are good and realistic. All of this in one patch. I like that the makers of the Art of the Lightsaber are thinking about the idea of each skin having different things or traits. Maybe later, like picking force powers on the colomns, we will pick added powers and have another page of items that you can pick such as grappling hook or whatever. Or maybe even fighting style. I don't have that ability yet, but maybe a group effort will prevail. I'm just suggesting. I also wanted to know about some patches that can go with the Art of the Lightsaber patch. Maybe they could make a patch page specifically for updating or making small modifications to the Art of the Lightsaber page.

Have you ever tried the ninja kage patch? I think it's better than the mandalorian one.

patches suck. i've only ever had ONE patch work for me. there are some cool ones out there like the preadator patch, it looks a sounds kickass, but i've never gotten it to work, or the double saber patch...what a joke. that one is potentially cool but...*sigh* this game has something aganst me.

AOTL is unfinished as far as I can tell. On the website where you download the zip file, there is a seperate DOC file you can download that explains how to pick your character (it's a clunky system, but they claim it was the best they could do).

In the beginning when the idea of using command lines was introduced, I found it tricky at first, but then I realized that many other games used this type of patch running, so I became familiar with it. Then when Patch Commander was released, I had no trouble, as the program was so easy and user-friendly.

Once you learn how to use patches, it becomes second nature. Granted some patches are just super buggy and don't work, but that's the fault of the author(s), not of Jedi Knight or of Patch Commander.

Thumbs down

I'd have to look it up again. I thought I posted that URL in a thread recently. Try looking at the various topics in this forum (JK/MOTS)...

i have patch commander, but i think that the patches conflict each other, so only one will work at a time (thoughs that work...)

The help for Art of the Lightsaber patch doesn't really tell you what key selects a person in the beginning. It uses, "hotkey"

They expect the reader to already know what the hotkey is. What are they writing directions for experts? Does anyone know what key? Or how to set up a key? Or something?

Thank you,

It means you have to set a key for it yourself. "when in jk" Go into control>keyboard and scroll to the bottom and asign some keys.

Oops, I forgot to post the link to the DOC file which gives a full explanation (for future reference). It's a tiny link on that same download page:

http://www.outpostd34.com/sandcrawle.../aotlguide.doc

They need to just include it in the normal zip, I say.

Most patches are simple weapon patches. That's why I said most patches can't work while others are activated. I was including those hundereds of stinky patches.

So what do you consider a 'stinky' patch?

I wouldn't even count those. They make the game dumb. Well, at first it may seem cool, but they usually turn out to be bad.

Then what are you counting? Most mods have to do with weapons and skins. So in affect If you have one patch activated then most likely It's going to not let you turn on very many,if any, more.

That is my point exactly. Most patches are weapon patches. I count them in small numbers because most of them are very simple.

I'm talking about larger patches mixing with the Art of the Lightsaber patch.

If anyone knows about any large patches that go with it, what are they.

Thank you,

It really stinks that once you take your robe off in the game using AOTL, you can't get it back. Someone should fix that.

Well email the AOTL team or visit their site (if one is listed on the docs) and let them know what you think.
