func_breakable only breaks into stone!

i want it to break into wood pieces. i'm working in MP. I've tried experimenting with material as a key, even though it's not mentioned, and with debrismodel.

does anyone know how to get this to work?

Yeah sure---

I was playing WLS's Map Pack the other day--and on one of the maps a glass screen broke into stone--I was like....huh???

Now maybe in MP things only CAN break into stone...I haven't tested it...

But to change the stuff an object breaks into (in SP at least)

Bring up the Entity menu and for the key type "material"

You will have these to choose from:
(type in the number in the "value" box)

0=metal

1=glass

2=sparks

3=sparks and metal

4=brown stone chunks

5=tan stone chunks

6=glass and metal

7=an electronic metal

8=no chunks

9=grey stone

10= metal and metal 2 combo

11= yellow multi-colored crate

12= grate chunks (DONT USE THIS ONE)

13=rope bits

14=red multicolored chunks

15= white angular chunks

I don't think it works in MP, no.

Q3MAP2 support for JO will probably solve this as well as many other MP problems, like the metal steps.

I am getting SOOOO tired of hearing clock, clock, clock, clock as the ONLY stepping sound.

But if it is true that MP don't support breakables in different materials--then what about glass? I am sure there is a way around it.

And yes, I do know about func_glass

but that shares the same propeties....

Emon, do you mean to say that maybe the MP game has the capability already, but that the compiler is the problem?

Where can I get info/news about Q3map2?

Yes, I believe it's the compiler. Check out forums.ravensoft.com (I think) and talk to ydnar. The homepage is www.shaderlab.com, but I haven't really found WHERE on the page q3map2 stuff is.
