water shadow

when i use a water shader it all works perfectly except the water is dark on the surface no matter the amount of lights i use.
please help.

Which water shader are you using?

Did you texture both the top and bottom of your brush with the same water shader?

yes

Yes i did, top and bottom with a caulk on the sides.
i have now been able to use "yavin trail" water shader but its not the best effect for a swimming pool.
