Raschel: ...Are you absolutely insane?

Guy: I assume you have a plan.

Marin: What about the sword...

Heimdall: Depends on your definition of sanity. We have a general idea, although it is a more make it up as you go sort of thing. And finally I need to examine the sword pieces. so it will have to wait.

Oh Look Nidhogg is coming.

*Nidhogg leaps off his perch and begins to come directly at the Asgardreid.*

Hal: Heimdall, why don't you just head up, or can those things survive in a vacume?

As an aside, I doubt even you know about the base in Retari. We should go there. There's no way you have a copy of the book of Malken.

Heimdall: Currently we are trying to get them to chase us...

And your right I have not heard of a base in Retari. However that doesn't really mean anything. Does it?

Asgardreid: Let's see. Ah yes. I do have information of a base in Retari, What would you like to know?

Heimdall: How current is the information?

Asgardreid: Not very current. An agent was dispatched to asses it before our departure and the commencement of the quest. Since that point I haven't asked for an update of information.

Heimdall: Alright. And what of the book?

Asgardreid: Just the title? Couldn't have given me a date when it was written or the author. No that would have made this easier. We can't have that can we...

Heimdall: Just look for it.

Asgardreid: Fine, fine. Can you please tell her to be careful, Nidhogg almost bit me as we flew past. I don't want to be dragon food.

Ah here it is the Book of Malken. Our sole copy was destroyed with the archives. It was deemed to not be important enough to save. That is all I have on the book. Now in my search, I did come across this.

Malken Flax son of Draslo Flax. The brief description I have of him says he was a General, warrior and a pilot. For a more comprehensive biography please consult the archives. However that is impossible since the archives were blown up into very tiny pieces.

Heimdall: Thank you very much. *looks at Hal, with a slight shrug* Amoung other things we've tracked your bloodline. Now why should we go to that base? More importantly does the map show our next destination?

*While this was happening Nidhogg fell behind the Asgardreid and gave chase. He force them into an ambush. Directly in front of the Asgardried were the four other Dragons. Svafa unleashed a string of curses. Loud enough for Heimdall to hear but not the others. This makes Heimdall look out the viewport*

Heimdall: This isn't good...

*Guy looks at the map* It's blank.

Raschel: Blank?

Guy: Blank. *He shows her the map, which is indeed devoid of any details*

Raschel: But...

Marin: The sword pieces. I believe we ought to assemble them.

Raschel: *looking through the viewport* Um, shouldn't we be panicking about now?!

Heimdall: Well the sword is in pieces, and those dragons cannot be killed. So I would say it won't be very effective.

*The Asgardreid goes vertical escaping the trap but now has all five dragons chasing after it*

And Raschel, if we panic we die. Now personally I don't feel like dieing just yet. Now to the sword. I agree that we probably need to reassemble it. When we are safely in hyperspace we can examine the pieces to see how we need to reassemble the blade.

*THe Asgardreid enters space. The dragons still following*

Did I mention that they can survive in vaccum? It will only be a minute before the jump is calculated. This jump will be a short one then we will jump again. Now Hal, why exactly should be go to that base and collect that book?

Hal: The book is hardcopy, it's 25,000 years old and contains the recorded location of every Jedi, stronghold, Warlord, force surge and weird mojo since it was written. It will tell us where Drago was when the Galaxy went boom.

I assume you know who he is?

Heimdall: That isn't a good enough reason. The book would provide little to no aid. For starters it is full of gaps. For instance that book contains no record of any of our strongholds. Nor every warlord in the galaxy. But that doesn't really matter since we are not going after warlords. The Jedi are all but dead.

And no I do not know who Drago is off the top of my head. I would have to consult our database. Before we go hunting for this one you will have to give me a damn good reason to put the quest on hold. Remember we have a time limit. If we fail to beat the deadline then everyone in this galaxy will die.

*The Asgardreid jumps into hyperspace. Svafa exits the bridge, gives Heimdall a glance and walks to Idun's room*

To assemble the sword I need a forge. *hits a button and a galatic map appears. Many of the stars are now missing from it* I believe we should go here *points to a star. the map zooms in showing a system* This is the Balmora system. It is devoid of life and holds one of our listening outposts. THe outposts contains a forge...

I'm sorry but there is something that needs my attention. If you excuse me.

*Heimdall leaves the lounge and goes to Idun's room*

Asgardreid: *to Raschel* One must talk at lenght when educating people. My personal observations tell me that you all are in desperate need of educating. Perhaps he should hold a class...

-----------------------------

Heimdall: No, Idun is near death. The force of her impact has caused internal bleeding, she has a broken bones, and some other injuries. She also has been posioned.

Svafa: It was foolish of her to use those spells. Our access to the Futhark has been gone to long for her to try those spells. Idun should have waited for her powers to reach their normal levels.

Heimdall: What choice did she have? If she didn't all of us could have easily been killed. It is lucky that Hel was only toying with us.

Svafa: I know. Still there had to be another way.

Heimdall: Unfortunatly there wasn't, and you know Idun. Probably better then I do.

Svafa: Yes. Idun would gladly have given her life to save a friends life. However, those people out there can they really be considered our friends?

Heimdall: Perhaps, perhaps not. Still as long as they are in our company they have our protection. Regardless of their feelings about us. Idun knew...knows this.

Svafa: So do I. Still I would hate to see her sacrifice herself to save people who hate us.

*Heimdall squeezes Svafa's shoulder in agreement. Svafa finally finds what she was looking for. It appeared to be a pen. She begins to make marking on the bulkhead *

((Deac: Did you intentionally add an extra r in Balmora?))

RH Irvine: "I knew I heard you eariler computer, but I didn't think there was enough time to speculate. My people are just beginning to develop such technology like yours, I'm sure we're a long way from your level. How ever if I may ask, are your systems tied along with a central computer? Or do you have to connect to an outpost like Balmora? I'm just asking for ideas."

WH Irvine: "Hey, how about getting back on subject? Like why should we trust a book that has possible no amount of backbone of information that Heimdall thinks that book has or hasn't, granted I don't know details on the book myself, but I have to agree on him on this..."

Asgardreid: I can survive the destruction of a star as well. However that really isn't that important since we are not planing to blow up anymore stars.

Vampires are blood suckers, the undead, demons wearing human skin as clothes.
-----------------------------

Heimdall: Perhaps they don't hate us, but I'm fairly certain that if we died they wouldn't be that upset. After all we did blow up most of the galaxy.

Misea, I'm pretty sure will be going over to the other side sometime in the future. She will have to be watched.

*The Asgardreid drops out of hyperspace. The ship turns to a new heading. Armored plates slide over the viewports bloking anyview. The Asgardreid then engaged it's slipstream drive.*

Asgardreid: Traveling in hyperspace we would reach Balmora in two standard days.

[time advance commencing in T-5 4 3 2 1. Time advancement has been engaged. Time advancement ending. 1 standard day has past]

*The Asgardreid disengages the slipstream drive. The world of Balmora hangs in front of the ship. Balmora is a desert planet, void of water.

During the trip Heimdall has studied the pieces of the sword extensively. Discovering amoung other things that the blade is mithril. Idun health has improved but still has remained unconscious. Svafa has stayed with her for the entire journey.*

Asgardreid: Entering the Balmora system. We will be landing shortly, please put trays in their up right position and put on seat belts.

*The ship flies over the endless sea of dunes. Suddenly the ship stops, hovers. A moment later large hangar doors open revealing a passageway that leads to an underground hangar. The Asgardreid enters the passage flies for a minute until it reaches the hangar. There it gently touches down. Meanwhile the hangar bay doors close and are once again part of the landscape.*

Asgardreid: Thank you for flying Asgardreid space ways. We hope that you enjoyed the flight and will be fling with us again.

*The Asgardreid extends the boarding ramp.*

Heimdall: Thank you.

*Collecting the pieces of the sword, Heimdall exits the ship into a darkened Hangar bay. The outpost was abandoned shortly after the holocaust. Heimdall takes a few steps foward and waits.*

Outpost: Identity confirmed. Welcome Lord Heimdall instructions?

Heimdall: Bring everything online.

*Lights come one to reveal a large empty hangar.*

Heimdall: Thank you.
-----------------------------------------

Asgardreid: Idun's quaters

*Idun opens her eyes. She looks around her quaters, she takes a deep breath alerting Svafa who was sitting at Idun's desk.*

Svafa: Well hello. Your finally awake.

Idun: How long have I been out?

Svafa: A little over a day.

Idun: Where are we and where is Heimdall?

Svafa: We just arrived at Balmora, and Heimdall I believe is going to the forge. When your ready I want to take you to the medcenter for a through check up and maybe more treatment.

Idun: I'm ready.

*Svafa Stands and disconnects Idun from various medical equipment. She then helps Idun exit the Asgardreid. Nodding to Heimdall the head for the medcenter.*

*Outside RH Irvine keeping quiet walks a few steps behind Heimdall.*

Heimdall: Why not here? After all it is just a simple forge...

*Heimdall enters the forge. There is a fire pit is in the corner a couple of large anvils near the pit. Next to them are large buckets. Against the wall are tables on them are some smaller anvils. Hanging above the tables are an assortment of tools including hammers. Finally there is a door at the far end.

Heimdall sets down the boxes that contain the various pieces of the sword on the table. He ignites the fire and begins to fill the buckets with water. Heimdall then goes to the next room where He puts on a heavy leather apprean and a shirt with short sleeves. After changing he looks around the room*

Heimdall: Perfect there is enough.

*Heimdall reenters the forge and wait a minute. After looking at the fire he takes the pieces of the sword and throws them into the fire.*

Heimdall: This is going to be a while.

*Heimdall then goes back into the adjoining room and returns with large sheets of Mithril*

RH Irvine: "Heh, of course. Nothing like the satisying feeling of crafting something from either sheets of metal like those, or from raw ore itself. I would have thought there would have had some sagifigant purpose for this forge to be here. But I'd like to ask one more question, not that you have a source of water on a planet nearly void of it, but it was a small hobby to blacksmith in my late teens..." *^_^*

Heimdall: So you want to help? Fine how do you create a damascus blade? Since that is what I will be doing.

RH Irvine: 'I know its a blade, I might not have had much terminology with different blade types, although Lightsabers and Metal swords are two different things, how ever can have simular names and classes...' *Looks into the fire at the pieces. Then scratches head* "A scimiter?"

Heimdall: No. Damascus blade is when the blade is put into acid and a unique pattern is created from the impurities in the metal. All of this is going to have to be redone.

Now I can use your help as long as you do what I tell you when I say it, and leave when I tell you. If you can't do that then you might as well leave now.

*Heimdall looks at the metal it was now beginning to glow red. In a little while he could begin*

RH Irvine: "Nope, I haven't had much experence with using acid." *shrugs* "I kinda wanted to forge another blade, recreationally, but sure I'll help."

*On the Asgardried, Aidan still sleeps under the solar lamp. Marin walks in the room just as he wakes up.

The stone shell around him cracks. His eyes glow, and with a few jerks the rest of the stone shatters and falls to the ground*

Marin: Just in time.

Aidan: He drugged me.

Marin: I hear you tried to kill him.

Aidan: The Shadow? I don't remember.

Marin: Well. At least you got your sleep.

Aidan: Sure. Where are we?

Marin: A dustball. Guess they're popular in this dimension.

Aidan: What are we doing here? Have we found that...Time Matrix thing yet?

Marin: No. We had to find pieces to a mystical blade, and the one called Heimdall is putting the pieces back together using a deserted forge here.

Aidan: I see. And this will help us why?

Marin: No one seems to know. But we don't have anything else to do.

Aidan: Right. *He gets up from his crouch* Stone sleep for too long. I need to move. Then I can think.
