Me got questions

1) I know this has been asked many times but, what *does* actually happen to someone who's been sprouted? I know that it's worse then death because that's the end of your physical suffering, whereas after you're sprouted your body just stays that way, without healing etc. But what happens to the person's soul? Does it just stay inside that flowery carcass, in pain forever? For example:

Manny discovered in the end that Salvador always had a ticket on the Number Nine. So now after being sprouted, would he just be stuck in Nuevo Marrow forever, not being able to reach the Ninth Underworld (on the train or by some other means)?

2) What happens to Eva? Manny just leaves her behind in Land of the Dead where she has to work with the LSA till she's done enough good and earned HER Double N ticket or something? .

3) I don't really get the concept of the Mexican philosophy of life after death. You get to the Ninth Underworld after a period of 4yrs. Does this mean that the journey's really long and difficult, and takes you at least 4 years to get there, or are you just stuck in the Land of the Dead till your 4 yrs are over? If it's the latter case, then staying in the LoD doesn't sound so bad. You could just stay there and make an honest living doing something you enjoy (like Manny in Rubacava) until your 4 years are up, no matter how bad you've been when you were alive (as long as you're not stuck as a reaper or something). Wouldn't that be unfair? You get to enjoy your life, er, death, while someone who's been better then you in the last world might be doing a lot worse in this one?

4) And lastly, a non-GF related question. Has Lucas Arts released and new adventure game recently, any game after "Curse of Monkey Isl"? What about Full Throttle 2?

1) Who knows? It's left deliberately vague. There are two alternatives: the soul is in a state of perpetual torment, or it is annihiliated. And there's no way to know what Salvador's fate is. I've suggested that Eva intends to carry his remains to the Ninth Underworld but left open the question of whether or not that's a pipe dream.

2)Unless a sequel address this, there's no way to know.

3)The four-year thing is Aztec, not modern Mexican. The game is only losely based on Aztec post-mortem beliefs. For the Aztecs, after death the soul faced a four-year journey across the land of the dead to the realm of the lord of death. This journey involved a number of difficulties. At the end the journey the soul ceases to exist. The game merges this with Christian (specifically, Catholic) beliefs about the afterlife (the DOD and the concept of earning off your time reflects the notion of purgatory). My view is that the four years, in the game, refers to four years or traveling. Staying in one spot doesn't count.

4)The most recent LEC adventure game was Escape from Monkey Island (2000). FT2 should be released late 2003 and S&M2 sometime in 2004.
