Direct X9 problems? Or was it always like this..

I upgraded to direct X 9 a while ago and started goofin around in single player mode. I like to play with saber in FP view (WHICH NEEDS TO BE IN MP!!!) *ahem* anyway... what I noticed is that when I deflect multiple shots from many different oncoming attackers, the game slows down horendously. After watching for a while, I noticed it was linked to the smoke textures that appear on the saber when it deflects a shot. When I switch to third person view the issue is completely gone.

Now I don't remember this happening before because I always play saber in FP view (SOMETHING THAT MAY BE NICE ONLINE) *cough* so I think it may be related to direct X 9, which I recently installed.

Other COMPLETELY unrelated note about DX9: DX9 also fugged up Half Life graphics for me, and switching to Open GL fixed that. But JKII doesn't support pure Open GL graphics, at least I don't think it does...

Anyhoo, I'm done... put fp saber in mp... later.

So it goes.
