Question Question on grates...

How do you create a floor that you can see through, such as a grate...

Sounds like there could be a simple solution but I am stuck so far...

Thanks in advance

Here's a good explanation of grate textures and how to create them:

Hope this helps.

First you'll need to create a brush for your grate. To see thru the grate you'll need a shader. Shaders will allow you to see thru the grate. You'll have to search through the textures to find a grate shader that you like. Then texture both sides of the brush with that shader. If you want to be able to destroy the grate you'll have to make it a func_breakable. There are plenty of tutorials and posts on this forum on how to do that. Have fun.
